That Hydra still look's Bad ass! I'm gonna look for all the classic Harry Hausen film's,I don't have nothing against CG really,but stop motion is not only easier in some way's,but it just seem's funner too,you're not stuck behind a computer the hole time.

Not only are these true classics of yesteryear made with better production in terms of special effects... lack of present tech notwithstanding.. but the overall acting, storyline, editing and music background far exceeds today's garbage. Are you future directors/producers and actors listening??? Lol

These forms of animation are magical even from imperfection. Modern computer animations on the other hand are just mass produced and emotionless conveyer belt products with no magic whatsoever especially when its all widely known. Can you imagine anyone who'd be able to do this manually today? It's a great skill.

herkules killed the hydra, but the hydra didnt defend the golden vlies, "just" an normal dragon did it.

Yes it was one of Hercules's task but I'm not sure about the fleece.

I think they use CGI as a crutch now. Stop motion was expensive so they didn't always use it unless they could do it right.

But they use CGI all the time now no matter how good or bad it looks because its cheap and easy.

@torokthetroll this is an art, you're right, but today cgi isn't as easy as you think.. i'm an architect cgi-artist and trust in me.. to get a "descent 3d scene" you requires a lot of skills and effort. a couple of months just for a couple of minutes.

By the way, I love stop motion! it´s fantastic! :D
