The RRHOF can go suck a fat one. The simple fact is this:  The day Shea Stadium was torn down, the record Grand Funk set of the fastest selling concert of all time at the Stadium, was NEVER broken. The reason for that is a simple one... They have always been loved by the people. That is something far better then being included in the RRHOF.

Several very deserving groups and individuals continue to be left out of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for what must be personal or political reasons. Another example is the British band Jethro Tull. Certainly the RRHOF offers a meaningful contribution to the history of popular music but it should never be looked upon for a truly deserving membership.

@WestMaroon I agree completely, GFR are the best band the USA has ever produced, and Tull are the best British rock band ever, the fact that neither are in the HOF shows what a futile, useless exercise it is! Ummmm... actually it depends on the album. On the studio album it was called I'm Your Captain. On the live album Caught In The Act, it was called Closer To Home. I list it as both on different videos.

Mark Was here in Dundalk, Maryland on July 6, 2008 and sounded great! Eventhough it was somewhat rainy, it was a great show! I would like to see him come back to Dundalk more often! ROCK ON CREW!!

R&RHOF are fools. They told me GFRxR was not a big influince. I honestly can NOT think of a band in the '70's that was a bigger influince to a young person wanting to start a band than GFRxR. Every young man in the 70's wanted to be like Mark Farner. He was iconoclast.

I think when something can not be explained in life, such as the way R&RHOF acts. It can almost always be traced to envy. GFRxR was sell-out 25,000-50,000 seat arenas nightly, when other bands couldn't sell-out a 500 seat club.
