I cry when he crashed I lived so close to where he grow up i use the vet they took him before they took him to pa I saw his trailer going to races i Watched people gather to watch him run I walked to the track when I'm at fairlhill and just stand there and think about what he could of been and how much he would be missed

I bleieve that horse your talking about is Secretariat. His heart was almost triple the size of a normal horse. A whopping 22 pds. Now thats the stuff of legends, Barbaro was not a legend, but he will Remembered :)

What a beautiful video. Barbaro changed my life in the most dramatic way. I find it hard to believe that tomorrow will be the one year anniversary of his path. No...unfortunately, BARBARO would only have been put out to stud if he had retired healthy. He was too fragile to attempt the act. It must be natural (not artificial insemination) as per strict breeding regulations for thoroughbreds.

He was too ill to attempt this. Dr Richardson tried so hard to get him well so he could stand stud, but this dream just didn't happen to everyone's great dismay.

No, Dr. Richardson was not there, but within 2 hours he got the call. The Jackson's want to give it a try and so did Barbaro. I watched the race and he wanted to race. I thank God for people like the Jackson's and the vet, it was a 50/50 chance and he gave it all. I am from Texas and we say Hook'em horns Barbaro

Fantastic Video. However The Vet was not present at the Starting Gate right before the Gates opened for the Preakness race. Its a Law that the Vet be there. Barbaro should never been in that race because he was injured already.

You're kidding... Barbaro was the undefeated champion; he won the 2006 Kentucky Derby, but when he ran in the Preakness he shattered his leg, and his career was instantly over. Then the family kept him alive until January 2007, but they euthanized him on Jan. 29 because they didn't want him to suffer anymore. Farewell, Barbaro!
