I tried that at Daytona this year, Triumph has come a LONG way since 650 Bonneville with the 3 candle power headlight from Lucas Electric. Good size bike, first thing to go would be pipes though, to me' it sounds like a John Deere tractor.. I have Cobra slashes on sportster..sound is part of the equation too....
I'm tired of lying. Have had my 1200Sportster 3 years and the 2 longest rides were to the shop for repairs. Bought new in 07 I have put over 2 grand in repairs after the fac warranty. My wife hates the tingled at 65 mph and above, looked at an 09 Soft tail, but guy wrecked it the day I went to see it.. His front brake seized and bike went down . $2135 in damages.. I am trying to get decent price and will buy a BMW for real comfort. Fuck the image, you can have it. I want dependable now..

i read most of the posts and sorry friends, this is NOT a harley...its a big dog chopper ,.....huge difference!!!! not a honda or yamaha either! know your bikes before you make fun of harley riders...this guy was obviously new to the bike or it was waaaay to much horsepower ...either way its a custom bike and spendy to fix...glad it wasnt a car he hit instead!
This is actually a fairly common accident scenario for amateur, inexperienced riders. The burnout or wheelie goes fine, but the rider often underestimates the distance required to get slowed down again and/or stopped. This causes him (it's ALWAYS a him,) to lock up the rear brake and go down. There are at least five different versions of this type of accident on Youtube right now.

The thing for riders to remember if they are going to attempt a burnout or wheelie, is to estimate the amount of distance they need in front of them at the start, and then DOUBLE that estimate. If that distance isn't available, wait until it is. The other key is to be skilled at using the front brake to its limit, and to practice using it at least every couple of weeks to stay sharp. Of course, you could also buy a bike with ABS, which also would have prevented this.

for starters he's going in a straight line. my rear's broken traction hundreds of times on the straight, from wet, ice, aggressive braking, whatever. it's no biggy and you just deal with it.
on a corner or on an icy/wet road i could understand and i'd feel compassion for a downed biker, but here, the guy's just being a douche. shame, really. it looked like a nice bike.

You gotta be a jackass to ride a piece of crap like that. Looks like a Big Dog and those things are no good for things like turning. The ppl who said that bike has no front brakes are apparently blind cause i can see the rotor, and at 0:05 you can even see the brake line. Add to that that the guy locked his front brake, not the rear. Thats clear from the angle of the front wheel when he lands. If you think all the losers ride Harleys, there are plenty of videos of idiots on sport bikes here, too

i read most of the posts and sorry friends, this is NOT a harley...its a big dog chopper ,.....huge difference!!!! not a honda or yamaha either! know your bikes before you make fun of harley riders...this guy was obviously new to the bike or it was waaaay to much horsepower ...either way its a custom bike and spendy to fix...glad it wasnt a car he hit instead!

This is actually a fairly common accident scenario for amateur, inexperienced riders. The burnout or wheelie goes fine, but the rider often underestimates the distance required to get slowed down again and/or stopped. This causes him (it's ALWAYS a him,) to lock up the rear brake and go down. There are at least five different versions of this type of accident on Youtube right now.

@riderpoet You are so correct. He could have avoided this by using the FRONT brake lever, not the rear. This accident screams NOVICE.

The thing for riders to remember if they are going to attempt a burnout or wheelie, is to estimate the amount of distance they need in front of them at the start, and then DOUBLE that estimate. If that distance isn't available, wait until it is. The other key is to be skilled at using the front brake to its limit, and to practice using it at least every couple of weeks to stay sharp. Of course, you could also buy a bike with ABS, which also would have prevented this.

this guy just doesn't have a good sense of balance.
for starters he's going in a straight line. my rear's broken traction hundreds of times on the straight, from wet, ice, aggressive braking, whatever. it's no biggy and you just deal with it.
on a corner or on an icy/wet road i could understand and i'd feel compassion for a downed biker, but here, the guy's just being a douche. shame, really. it looked like a nice bike.
