Rusty is a doll. My wife and I visit her in her home on Oahu quite often. Well....actually we are visiting our friend whom rooms with Rusty, but we visit with them both all the same :)
Holy cow. My parents told me when i was just a babe & they thought I was sound asleep, they played her album & when they went to flip it over to the other side they could hear me singing "Roll me over". The first song I learn to sing back in 63.
I discovered* Rusty at age 14. Those old albums had a VERY permanent influence on my sense of humor and my outlook on sex. I emailed her a few years back via her website just to say thanks; she replied personally and was incredibly sweet.
* My best friend swiped a Rusty Warren album from his mom's "hidden" collection.
When I was 16 or so, it was considered real risque to get together in a friend's basement when his parents went bowling and listen to Rusty Warren comedy records. I loved her and this interview shows what a smart and very "ahead-of-her-time" woman she is. Love you, Rusty! Thanks for the laughs!
Ms. Warren is still alive and well in Hawaii, i shared several emails with her concerning the Comedy Central's ranking of the top 100 stand-up comedians of all time and i told her i was disappointed that she was not included on that list....
@d820m I haven't seen that list, but it would probably take me about 3 seconds to weed it down by a few, to make room for legends like Rusty, and the late, great Tubby Boots. Most stand-up comedy these days no longer has any of the art & craft left in it. Same goes for today's sitcoms compared to the 50's and 60's.
I have Rusty's email, she is not dead. My mom is Reta Ray, gave Rusty material when she was starting out, forever grateful. Hear my mom sing Rum and CocaCola. Her songs were illegal to play or sell in stores. She sold them in night clubs where she worked. Beautiful Glamour girl, from Texas.
What an interesting woman. My dad had a copy of "Knockers Up" when I was growing up in the 60's. I listened to it almost 50 years ago. Smart and funny and real.
My parents hung-out w/ Rusty in the 1960's...I had the priviledge of getting aquainted w/ her @ my friends' play, Torch Song Trilogy....she is one fantastic chick!!!
I got to know the real Rusty Warren after she retired. We met on AOL and then in person several times. She was one funny, funny lady. She passed away a few years ago from diabetes.
@Zeesala Hi there from Heaven !!! Sorry I'm late getting this E-mail to you but the distance from where I am and cyberspace is a Loooooooooong way up ! Knockers ¨Up Rusty Just celebrated my 81 B'day today .. March 20th 2011 .
I LOVE Rusty!!! Rusty was way ahead or her time, and very underappreciated by the comedy establishment. Kathy Griffin and the rest owe Rusty a great debt. I love that old record where she talks about giving her titties ("boobies") individual names, "Well I live alone and have to have SOMEBODY to talk to"....
I remember and owned Rusty Warrens record "knockers up". It was way before its time and hilarious. I see many comments about the anouncer. He did a fine job. He allowed her to talk. Thanks a lot. Loved it.
Thank you for your comments, I have Tom Leykin interviewing Michael finney for some real backstage stuff and Rusty remains the true pro that come from a lifetime in the business and a wealth of knowledge.
Spread the word and thanks for watching my channels.
Hot damn, Beatrice's got her knockers up!

Rusty Warren and I have the same birthday! How great is that! And yes, I remember sneaking to listen to her albums my folks brought back from Vegas.
Timing, delivery, funny and fun! and soo innocent in ways compared to now.
She's amazing and still going!

Zeesala you want to "brag" about knowing Rusty Warren.... however she is NOT dead, so obviously you don't "know" her very well. Nice try though
