I think this was ignorance on the mothers part, but neglect on the social workers part. The mother thought she was doing the right thing ( not taking up for her ) but it is the social workers job to make sure everything is OK, she failed at that. I had family that would answer any question, had the internet, had doctors. I never had a question that wasn't answered. I have twins and one that is 13 months younger, They all lived and are healthy but everyone needs help sometimes.
