You need to work on your last hits. Once you get a grasp of the champion, you'd have a sense of how long it takes for your auto attack to hit and how much damage you can deal on both melee and mage minions. Don't just blindly left click until the minion dies, try to only attack when it's about to die to get more xp and gold. This way, you won't always push your minions to the enemy turrets (so it's easier to farm) and you level up faster and get more gold :)

Only go Doran's Ring if you're against a champ that you don't have to worry about skillshots with. Otherwise, boots is fine. Go flash/ignite. As for what to build... I usually go Sorcerer's shoes, spirit visage, will of the anchients, rabadon's, rod of ages, and abyssal sceptor. Sometimes I'll replace abyssal sceptor with zhonya's and sometime's I'll replace spirit visage with glacial shroud/frozen heart, depending on if the team is strong with either AD or AP... That's just me though.

Here's a little tip so that you don't start to develop bad habits: Don't autoattack the minions. Only get the last hit on them so you get the gold. Because if you autoattack too much, it pushes the minion wave toward the enemy tower, which means you have a harder time getting kills on the enemies and it makes ganking you so much easier since they could just run down the river and suddenly your route of escape is blocked off. It's all these little things that make you better at this game ^.^

dear aevynne. at 13:09 u guys woulda had that kill in the bag. You can cast other spells between your jumps with r. you shoulda used r once or twice to catch up to her. Use r to get in position to land e and then rape her with q and w after you've got her charmed, and then use ur 3rd jump or w/e if u need to. max q first then e then r then w. rod of ages on her is great if u get it early in the game.

Don't build ANYTHING remotely that is in the "Attack Damage" section of items in the store.

Stick to the "Magic" section of items in the store.

Ahri isn't an AD champion she is an AP champion, both of which play similar roles but are better in the areas they are based around. Ahri is a mage, so AP "magic items" benefit her most.

Hope some of this helps, if you want item(s) that give you HP back when you attack you invest in Spellsteal (same as lifesteal) except one benefits you more long term.

I noticed you bought a life steal item.

I just want to say that Life steal items only work with attack dmg (which Ahri shouldn't much of).

Instead go for items with Spell vamp (Hextech Revovler like you bought first, but also Ancient tome which is and upgrade) Spell vamp is magic life steal.

Don't get CD shoes like the others said, your Cooldown reduction should come from Morello's Evil Tome.

@AevynneLulzTiem how i play Ahri (lvl 30) is that you get the first item in the list that is recommended. it alows u to take some beating (noob friendly :D ) but u allso get mana reg. allso max Q first and then E. E is good to max fast so u get the confuse effect for a longer time. very helpfull for teamfights that might occur and for ganks early by the jungler

Now are you going to get a Deathfire Grasp only for the tank? Surely you're not stupid enough to focus the tank on a team-fight or are you? If you prioritize correctly there are other items that are much better than Deathfire Grasp.

@TortillaGaming It's known for the 30% HP damage but it is very a very helpful addition to most AP champions since many are known for their burst. Besides, at near end game, with around 300 AP, death fire grasp gets an aditional 10.5% HP that almost cuts a champion's health in half. The 15 AP and 5% CDR bonus over DFG is not enough to convince me to get an evil tome instead.

At 18:14 you should have bought a blasting wand. You had the money for it and it builds into useful things. Plus, you needed the AP. You could have been taking out caster minions with one shot from your Q if you bought it probably.

@AevynneLulzTiem I know. I read your reply to him. Another thing I'd suggest is that you don't need to save up all the money for an expensive item then buy that expensive item. I noticed you wanted to buy a Rabbadon's Deathcap, but didn't have enough for it so you went and bought a sheen instead. Instead, you could have bought the components to build into that expensive item. In that case, it would have been the needlessly large rod.

Hey aevynne just a tip save your ip! so that way when you hit lvl cap (30) you can buy tons of runes. DONT BUY ANY RUNES UNTIL YOU ARE MAX LVL ITS A WASTE! and dont buy champs either unless you dont have any one a class i.g melee ad ranged ad melee ap ranged ap ect. thumbs up so she can see please :D

okay sry to say this aevynne but i just HAVE to help you with this char: start with a doran ring(better start, more stuff that ahri needs) you could use clarity for more spam. ahri is a mid char but she can go lane but it's not good... you should first fill up your Q ability, then W for max dmg output, lvl1-6 should look like Q,W,Q,E,Q,R. items:CD shoes, M evil tome(almost no CD) ROA(more survivability) lichbane, Rab, archangel(if you want) and remember, only AP

still play the char as you want!

@HzWyrdo not ahri, simply because of her passive, if you have CD reduction then the passive will be better than will of the ancient, since you can spam 8 abilities non stop. ahri is one of the few chars that doesn't need it(annie and morg are two others with no use for will of the ancient aswell, annie because she nukes so fast that it's not a prob if you play right and morg.......well duh passive.)
