  • love the ending of this song!

  • Individualism is fleeing social and collective duty - nothing more and nothing less.

  • @benutzer29915022 Individualism is being able to think for yourself, if a cause is worthy people of the individul mentality will support and help it. Example almost all individual peoples support the NHS almost none of them support the war in Iraq. NHS helps all peoples, war in iraq squanders money to give oil to the Americans.

  • @benutzer29915022 i never agreed to your forced collectivism, so will you please stop using the power of government to steal my wealth to support your cause? This duty you speak of is complete lies to cover your advocating for theft. Perhaps you enjoy being a serf to the infinite power of socialist tyranny, but leave the rest of us out.

  • @mac423 If it makes you feel safer to have a central planner telling you how to live your life, it is not because of the dangers of a free market, it is because you are a coward that cannot take personal responsibility.

  • @mac423 I guess it could also be because you don't want a bunch of children to get sick or die because their parents forgot to do their research and bought them infected beef in Libertopia's unregulated free market. (not having a central planner, though)

The biggest reason why "people should face any consequence of their decisions" is dumb is that people aren't islands and their decisions affect people other than themselves. There are other as well, but they won't fit here.

  • This man made me look into the field of thoughts regarding anarchism, it really helped enlighten me on an idea I did not understand until I really gave it a chance.

  • Seeing him tonight in Milwaukee Wisconsin!!

  • seeing him in Winnipeg today! So pumped also it will be my first concert.

  • I get to go see him todaay. : )

  • Occupy Wall Street's official theme song...at least in my mind.

  • @DragonDDT Wow. This idiotic statement quite simply exemplifies the utter and completely unadulterated confusion of the idiots who're "occupying" wall street. This song is about the government staying OUT of your life, Jackass.

  • @tfs94gt Unfortunately, I agree. I am with them in the fact that corporations and government should be separated completely and the corruption is getting out of control. However, the OWS crowd have no idea what they are doing or saying. The unfortunate thing is they are leaderless out of choice, when it is a leader they need to unify them. I think we need a change, but that crowd is just my idea of disgusting hippies who are only there because they think "fight the man". A sad state, really.

  • @tfs94gt Except for the fact that I imagine Frank Turner would support the protest. He regularly talks of prostest marches similar at his gigs and clearly opposes free market thinking, seeing as he wrote a song called "Thatcher fucked the kids".

  • @villafan666 Au contraire, he may have written that song, but he no longer performs it. Furthermore, he describes himself on his website as a 'Classical Liberal/Libertarian' and explicitly states that he is NOT a socialist.

  • @damashii Where did you find that out?

  • HOOOOLY SHIT FINNALY SOME PUNK ASS MUSIC THAT ISN"T OBNOXIOUSLY COMMUNISTIC! I have found another niche' :))))

  • Long live the IRA!!!

  • 1 NWO agent

  • saw em live. i love frank turner<3

  • amazing song Frank Turner is very underrated

  • Seems like this song is becoming more relevant every year.

  • this is just beautiful, I have just discoverd this man, and will be listening more

  • Had this playing when I punched a cop.

    Was epic.

  • @treeformlol itt the best post

  • This song almost makes me proud to be English, then I remember I'm an American.

  • @pythagerus123 , the American Constitution is one of the greatest texts of western liberal thought, and most of its signatories were British. You could say that the founding fathers of America are a flowering of the European enlightenment without drawing too long a bow

  • @theGreenChesterfield

    Not so at all.

The enlightenment is the cause of so many of our modern problems, and the leftist movement which has brought oppression, tyranny, and masses of non-whites upon our countries stems from the enlightenment era.

  • @TheBlarges That is the bastardization of the enlightenment, plus all these problems all stem from within the last 100 years. Lincoln knew blacks and whites couldn't live together, he in fact wanted them all gone after slavery was abolished.

  • @pythagerus123 British* : )

  • @pythagerus123

No worries! His last line "for a man who'd trade his for a safe a dreamless sleep, doesn't deserve the both of them, and neither shall he keep", is a take on Benjamin Franklin's "Any society that would give up freedom for security deserves neither and looses both". So yay English and Americans.

  • @bulananankey HAHAHAHAHA I actually live in a town crawling with them (Utah) and I had a mental picture of doing just this and literally had to take a min to recoup from the cramps I got from lauging so hard!

  • @bulananankey It's what I tell the government.

  • @bulananankey You realize this song is about the government, right?

  • @bulananankey That's my favorite part, the last verse :DD

  • @bulananankey thats great, it is the same idea I voice to the socialists also!

  • I saw him at the St. Louis Flogging Molly concert and bought both the albums he had, Poetry of the Deed and Love Ire and Song.

  • I have to say when i first saw this guy i was like "what the fuck another folk singer this is gonna blow" but the man quote Benjamin Franklin and this song just fucking rocks. Its fucking true what he said he is a punk rocker disguised as a folk singer.
