Well it didn't get impounded but they took a million pictures, my license and $5,000USD so I swapped the parts into an S13 and scrapped the shell.

There were a few factors. The shell was pretty bent, I crashed it quite a bit, the car was fine to use but it might not have passed the inspection for registration. I could have repaired it but I guess I just didn't want to.

The cost to pass the saftey inspection of a beat up car in Japan isn't worth it., espically when a new clean shell is so cheap.

It makes perfect sense if you have ever lived their and gone thought the process.
