First off, no text files. There's too much Mario {aint theft going around to be giving any out.

Honestly, it'll take a few months of practice before you would be able to accomplish something like this. Assuming you downloaded Mario paint Composer from UnFun games, I would start with something simple (perhaps from the NES or gameboy). If you're bad at picking out things by ear, download Notation Player and use MIDIs. With some practice, you should be able to get up to pieces like this.

Also, there are several techniques I used here to enchance the sound. One thing is the use of a soundfont. You can find them on SatoshiLyish or Cat333Pokemon's channel. Another is dickspeed. Look at some of TheEvilGrimace's videos for both examples and explanations of this technique.
