I am amazed how this ride can either be a blessing or a curse.. I like dinosaurs as a kid and I would not imagine why Disney would make them so ferocious looking...Kingdom of the Dinsaurs in Knott's Berry Farm is so tame...
I have a nervous condition and I was literally dragged on this ride. Let's just say they had a 14 year old crying like a baby on this ride. It was more the loud noises and flashing lights that scared me. Oh well...I lived xD
Ah. I went on it last summer. The Carnotaurus nearly made me jump outta my skin. It didn't scare me. It just suprised me a couple of times. But if you want intense, try the Rock N' Rollercoaster Starring Aerosmith! Now THAT'S intense! I wasn't afraid! It just took a minute or two on that ride! It ROCKED!!! The Dinosaur ride, though, is pretty good, if I do say so myself.
i luv the carnatorus when it takes ur pic. and when its like running after u! and the t-rex thingy at end!!! fav ride at animal kingdom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@rackas321 well disney wanted to appeal to ALL audiences not just kids, so they placed in Dinosaur and it became one of the most popular rides in Animal Kingdom
me too. i went for my birthday in july and we rode it , well my two older sisters, my aunt, my cousin, and my second oldest sister's boyfriend (he works at disney) and i rode, not my mom. it was fun.
i rode this ride last april, its scared the crap out of me and my friends we all couldnt look at the carnotaurus cuz when i opened my eyes from the rumbling, all i saw was teeth then i closed them again. after that we saw our picture and you can barely see our faces we didnt look at the camera we were busy trying to hide under the seats XDD
lol well i couldnt help it it was loud, fast, and the ride was shaking so much i didnt even know where i was XD but it was awesome though definately one of the best disney rides ever, well not THE best but ONE of the best cuz theres a whole buncha rides i loved (expedition everest)
@DisneyLovers7912 didn't scare me. i was lik 9 when i got on it for the first time. i got right back in line and rode it 3 more times. the ride is just awesome!
I rode this ride back in like 2003 or something like that and I didn't remember there being any drops but when we've gone back (we go like, every year) I've noticed that there's a sign that says "caution: this ride contains sudden drops" which is why I haven't been back on it, because that is one thing that I don't like... does anyone know if they changed the ride and added drops or were there drops in there before that just weren't very noticeable?
Honestly, I've never noticed any drops. The ride is very jerky--but the cart moves quite slow. I can't imagine a drop, if there was one, to be that bad. If there is one, there is way too much motion going on for me to ever notice.
There is one drop! Right after you see the teridactal *cant spell that sorry* You can only tell if your in the front becuase you can see the track below. Its a steep drop but it dosent seem like it becuase the car jerks up and down. Iv been on this ride 5 times in one day XDD I luv it so muuuch.
This was a great ride, I liked the other name better Countdown to Extinction! I hate why changed the name of this ride, corporate capitalistic world we live we in
i love this ride i went this year for our 5th grade senior field trip and i rode it with in the first row my boyfriend lizandro,me and chris the second row was my friends alejandro, lucas, and his mom
Well Jurassic park at Islands of Adventure is a log flume ride with a big drop. That said, I asked a few other people around me and they agree it is about the same fear factor with some things jumping out at you.
@MickeyEarsCom really? I always thought that this was way scarier than Jurassic Park. I've been on both and I think they're both awesome, but Jurassic was scary and Dinosaur was crap your pants scary. Dinosaur I think is just a lot more claustrophobic, since it's suffocatingly dark in there, and Jurassic just lacks the tlc of disney rides. I'm not dissing on either, they'll both give you nightmares, just Dinosaur will give you worse nightmares.
@ProjectEndgame its because of the sounds and the things that pop out at you along with darkness ^^ i admit, this ride really made me crap my pants, even my friends too. so much, that when we went to see our picture, we didnt look at the camera we were trying to hide. XD but its scary in a good way
its a combo in my opinion between the animated movie dinosaurs [the animatronic dinos r models of the dinos from the movie] but the rest of the ride [ the car and the beginning] is like jurassic park
@bestmand902 sort of. they both have dinosaurs & at the end a really big one comes out to scare u, but they're totally different. jurassic park is a water ride. it starts out all nice & slow until u reach danger.& as someone else mentioned their is a big drop at the end. this ride is fast and jerks u around all the way thru. Dinosaur is more of a thrill ride than jurassic park in my opinion. they're both great rides & are a great way to cool off from the florida heat!
Well that is hard to say, everyone has different fears. I know that my kids were very afraid the first time they went on this ride, but now love it. I also know some adults that are afraid of this ride. With that said, I think you will enjoy it if you give it a chance. Probably a little bit scarier than the Haunted Mansion so if you can make it thru that you should be fine.
well iv'e been on the haunted mansion a thousend times and i never got scared...................... exept when the guy in the no doors no windows room is in a newse (shudders)
Well then you should make it thru this one ok, but also note. Fear is a very personal thing, what I get scared of is very different than what another person may get scared of. I would suggest you give it a try and if you don't like it then don't ride it in the future. I hear a lot more complaints that it was to bumpy or fast than people who wouldn't ride it again because it was to scary.
It would depend on his height, my youngest is six and loved this ride when he was five. The biggest thing with this and any dark ride is going to be to pre-pair them. Let them know it is just a ride and it may be scarry but you will be there thru the whole ride.
I don't remember the height requirements for this one but my 6 year old niece went on it and loved it. It's really loud and pretty intense but I think most 5 year olds would be fine.
Well I think it is more a re-branding of the Indi Ride in California. They used the same ride tech, still nice to see that it is a bit different. I also take it as a high tech version of a wild toad for a new generation.
this ride scared me the part were the ride was like computer whats happeneing and the dumb car wouldnt move and this freaken huge T rex was tromping twards us and i screamed and hahaa good times
i want to work in disney / universal for my gap year operating the rides. do you suggest disney then? and what kind of stuff did you have to do / get?
Well i am from Minnesota, and I did the Disney College program. Are you from around the area? you have to go to Casting by downtown disney and apply, I am sure you would get it. Once you work you get training and you have to take an assessment test. but really its nothing... its a great place to work! hands down. if u need more info send me a message
Awesome ride. Very intense. I've seen many a small child go on excited and leave in tears. The dinos in this ride make you laugh at the dinos on Jurassic Park at Universal with maybe the exception of T-Rex.
Yeah I think the Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom is far scary than IOA's dinosaur ride, with the expection of their huge drop. I took my little cousin on this one and it scared the hell out of him, so when we went to IOA he wouldn't step into Jurassic Park at IOA because he was so afraid of this ride.
Been to Animal Kingdom twice and this is my favourite ride there so dont know how many times Ive been lucky enough to go on it and I honestly never spotted the dinosaur models outside!?!
Use FastPass.... I would fast pass Everest, Primevil-Whirl, then this one, then the Safari. Just about everything else you should not have a problem getting on at Animal Kingdom.
definitely notttt expecting it to be as scary as it was! haha, great ride though! I had a birthday fastpass, but definitely get a fastpass for it, because the line's ridiculousss
If you go in the middle of the week the lines should not be to bad, on the weekends it could at times be up to an hour for standby. I would try to do a fast pass as then it is just a five to fifteen minute wait as you go thru the pre-movie and que.
I remember the last time I went on this ride, how loud it was! I remember the dinosaur's growl was vibrating in my chest, it was awesome! I just wish this ride was longer, because you wait in line so long for two minutes, but it is definitely worth it!
I have a strange fasciation for dinosaurs. I went to Disney World and somehow MISSED THIS when in the Animal Kingdom! AAAH! I've never been so frustrated! It's frustrating to watch this.
Umm nuthin really jumps at you till the end where a huge Carnotaoraus or something is right near you and then at the very end a HUGE T-rex heads pops out at you.
I went this past Saturday ^_^ it was my b-day gift to go to all parks. 1st time at animal kingdom. I road this ride, but i think it malfunctioned cause it was really slow and we got stuck a couple of times I have no idea if its suppose to be like that and a guy was like were dead lol.
Yeah, I am looking to setup a night vision view of some rides in the next few months. It is going to need to be that happy medium, because I worry about the night vision showing lots of things that you would normally not see and losing some of the magic. Then again, it may be interesting to see some of those things.
Yeah, to be honest I did not think anyone would be interested in this video when I made it. But I thought it would be good for people to hear it and get a feel for how dark of a ride it actualy is. That way parents can make an informed judgment with younger kids. That said, my three love this ride, yet my wife can not stand it. I find people that do not like simulators typicaly do not like this ride as it is sort of similar in movment.
dude i loved dis ride. my uncles were screaming to death on dis one haha xD
the picture wuz really hilarious wen they took it lol. man i wanna go back but loads of money to get dere =[ sucks, but i had a awesome time. man awesome rides. dis wuz great, the dinos jumped me alittle cuz the big dino screamed really loud
Well yes, sort of... The drop is more like a car driving down a small hill. If you have problems with drops this should not be one to worry about. I personal hold tight even on the Pirates of the Caribbean and do not have a problem with this drop. Then again, I do not have a problem with simulators and some people do. Not sure if that helped or added more confusion.
Well it gives the impression that it is going very fast at times. Granted in reality I think you are going less than 10 miles an hour, but when you whip off from a dead stop in the dark in a turn it feels faster.
its kinda fast. it aint that fast. and ther are some drops, none really that big. for speed try rock n roller coaster. for the drops try tower of terror.
This ride was...interesting. I kinda thought it was corny and strange. Some parts scared me, but I would give the ride a 6/10. INDI IS WAAAAAY BETTER!!!
I am glad you mentioned Indi as it is the same style and mechanics for both rides. So anyone that has been to Disney Land, should have an idea of what this ride is like.
i went on that like the first time i went when i was like 8 and it scared the crap out of me! i had my eyes closed after about 20 seconds and i didnt open them til after the ride and the flashing still blinded me lol. and it was LOUD!! and BUMPY! lol (again). i havent gone on it since (and im a teenager now!) but i want to (with earplugs) so i can actually experience it and not freak out again!
@focus471 Well, it's not a lunge really. The carnotaur chases your vehicle at one point, then disappears. Then later, the vehicle stops in a dark place, carnotaur rises up out of the shadows, leans over the vehicle and roars an ear-splitting roar. It's at that point that the ride takes your picture.
@focus471 thank you for your response.. I have not been on this ride.. I try but at the last minute i tell my wife next time..The issue i have is the Carnotaurus.. I have seen different videos on you Tube it does look intense..
The Jurassic ride T rex roar was not scary so i guess i can compare it to this ride..I guess!
Yeah, this is a 50/50 ride for my group as well. It is a lot of bumping around and those that do not like simulators may not like this one. However, for me I think it is a great ride.
Ya, I really like the thrill. I was there with a camp and it was all teenagers and they saud theres not that much to it, the rest of us were like "what!"
Well yes, sort of... The drop is more like a car driving down a small hill. If you have problems with drops this should not be one to worry about. I personal hold tight even on the Pirates of the Caribbean and do not have a problem with this drop. Then again, I do not have a problem with simulators and some people do. how old is ur brother and i dont think he will like it very much cos it scared me and my brother when we went on it and my bro is 19. i almost killed my grandma aswell. but apart from the scariness its still a good ride
My little brother is only 10. He's pretty brave for his age, but he might be a little nervous. Wow, he was 19? Must be some good ride to scare a 19 year old. :]
When i went on this ride I was 7 and as soon as I saw a dinosaur eating another dinosuar I kept my eyes shut until the end when I saw the big red Dino...and i re
I scream my head off everytime im on this ride! :\

(:

dude i alomost peed my pants when i went on this ride! ._." lol i went in november and june and july and the lines are shorter in the week days! :]
crazyblonde4263 3 years ago
i think Everyone "sprinkles" i tiny bit when on this one. XD
rugdg13 3 years ago
If I went in April, how long would the line probably be?
alaine93 3 years ago
If you go in the middle of the week the lines should not be to bad, on the weekends it could at times be up to an hour for standby. I would try to do a fast pass as then it is just a five to fifteen minute wait as you go thru the pre-movie and que.

Have fun, and check back to let us know how you liked it.

i went on this ride for the first time yesterday and i loved it
mtvcrazy333 3 years ago
I remember the last time I went on this ride, how loud it was! I remember the dinosaur's growl was vibrating in my chest, it was awesome! I just wish this ride was longer, because you wait in line so long for two minutes, but it is definitely worth it!
GuitarInChrist04 3 years ago
I have a strange fasciation for dinosaurs. I went to Disney World and somehow MISSED THIS when in the Animal Kingdom! AAAH! I've never been so frustrated! It's frustrating to watch this.
UndiscoveredJulie 3 years ago
this ride is awesome, but its dark as hell
ScrachyRules07 3 years ago
I hate stuff jumping out at me, so would this probably not be the greatest choice?
conversecutie18 3 years ago
well if you really want to ride it, you should bc there's not really anything jumping at you but at the end it's a little scary
Orbittt1 3 years ago
Umm nuthin really jumps at you till the end where a huge Carnotaoraus or something is right near you and then at the very end a HUGE T-rex heads pops out at you.
homerowhomolol 3 years ago
It's EXTREMELY loud, and very scary. At the end the Iguanadon flashes at you soo scary

I wonder if a night vision setting would work... Or was the ride moving too fast?
Maybe I'll give it a try.
Cool video, though! It gives you a feel of the ride without spoiling much. ^^
ArchangelKo 3 years ago
Yeah, I am looking to setup a night vision view of some rides in the next few months. It is going to need to be that happy medium, because I worry about the night vision showing lots of things that you would normally not see and losing some of the magic. Then again, it may be interesting to see some of those things.
MickeyEarsCom 3 years ago
Yeah, I guess there are pros and cons to doing so.
It would be interesting to see those things, though.
ArchangelKo 3 years ago 2
i wanna go in this!!!!!
DarthKazer 3 years ago 2
A lot of the video is just a black screen with occasional hints of light here and there.
alfredgoovermon 3 years ago
Yeah, to be honest I did not think anyone would be interested in this video when I made it. But I thought it would be good for people to hear it and get a feel for how dark of a ride it actualy is. That way parents can make an informed judgment with younger kids. That said, my three love this ride, yet my wife can not stand it. I find people that do not like simulators typicaly do not like this ride as it is sort of similar in movment.
MickeyEarsCom 3 years ago
dude i loved dis ride. my uncles were screaming to death on dis one haha xD
the picture wuz really hilarious wen they took it lol. man i wanna go back but loads of money to get dere =[ sucks, but i had a awesome time. man awesome rides. dis wuz great, the dinos jumped me alittle cuz the big dino screamed really loud
Church96 3 years ago
does this ride have any relly fast speeds or big drops ??? please tell me asap cos im goin florida !!! not longg
sickedsam 3 years ago
Well yes, sort of... The drop is more like a car driving down a small hill. If you have problems with drops this should not be one to worry about. I personal hold tight even on the Pirates of the Caribbean and do not have a problem with this drop. Then again, I do not have a problem with simulators and some people do. Not sure if that helped or added more confusion.
MickeyEarsCom 3 years ago
thankss, so it doesnt go that fast??
sickedsam 3 years ago
Well it gives the impression that it is going very fast at times. Granted in reality I think you are going less than 10 miles an hour, but when you whip off from a dead stop in the dark in a turn it feels faster.
MickeyEarsCom 3 years ago
its kinda fast. it aint that fast. and ther are some drops, none really that big. for speed try rock n roller coaster. for the drops try tower of terror.
homerowhomolol 3 years ago
This ride was...interesting. I kinda thought it was corny and strange. Some parts scared me, but I would give the ride a 6/10. INDI IS WAAAAAY BETTER!!!
FastForward222 3 years ago
I am glad you mentioned Indi as it is the same style and mechanics for both rides. So anyone that has been to Disney Land, should have an idea of what this ride is like.
MickeyEarsCom 3 years ago
i went on that like the first time i went when i was like 8 and it scared the crap out of me! i had my eyes closed after about 20 seconds and i didnt open them til after the ride and the flashing still blinded me lol. and it was LOUD!! and BUMPY! lol (again). i havent gone on it since (and im a teenager now!) but i want to (with earplugs) so i can actually experience it and not freak out again!
TophLuvr62 3 years ago
This ride scared the poop right out of my butt, especially as I was in the front right when the big carnosaur lunges at the car.
goreesha 3 years ago 2
@goreesha would you explain more about the lunging part! thanks...
focus471 8 months ago
@focus471 Well, it's not a lunge really. The carnotaur chases your vehicle at one point, then disappears. Then later, the vehicle stops in a dark place, carnotaur rises up out of the shadows, leans over the vehicle and roars an ear-splitting roar. It's at that point that the ride takes your picture.
goreesha 8 months ago
@focus471 thank you for your response.. I have not been on this ride.. I try but at the last minute i tell my wife next time..The issue i have is the Carnotaurus.. I have seen different videos on you Tube it does look intense..
The Jurassic ride T rex roar was not scary so i guess i can compare it to this ride..I guess!
focus471 8 months ago
I hated this ride, it was way too intense for me! Good video, though.

I really enjoyed this ride on my last trip, a lot of my group didn't like it but I did! I can't wait to go back in 10 days!
silvercrew1 3 years ago
Yeah, this is a 50/50 ride for my group as well. It is a lot of bumping around and those that do not like simulators may not like this one. However, for me I think it is a great ride.
MickeyEarsCom 3 years ago
Ya, I really like the thrill. I was there with a camp and it was all teenagers and they saud theres not that much to it, the rest of us were like "what!"
silvercrew1 3 years ago
yes there is drop! i went on that ride twice!! LOVED IT!
TotalJonasLover 3 years ago
a big drop? does it make ur stomach drop
MileyCyrusHater101 3 years ago
nope.i didnt even know there was a drop.
littlechuckyfan1 3 years ago
it's the same drop as the Indiana Jones ride
demoman87 3 years ago
i havent been on that.. but is it like big or makes ur stomach drop?
MileyCyrusHater101 3 years ago
when i went on it the first time, it felt like a big drop but it really isnt that big. if you go on it more and more, it feels like nothing.
demoman87 3 years ago
Just wondering, at the end of this ride when the big dinosaur is ahead of you, is there a drop???
mindangel18 3 years ago
Well yes, sort of... The drop is more like a car driving down a small hill. If you have problems with drops this should not be one to worry about. I personal hold tight even on the Pirates of the Caribbean and do not have a problem with this drop. Then again, I do not have a problem with simulators and some people do. My little brother would love this since he loves dinosaurs. Although, he might get a little freaked out.
xcloudxburstx 3 years ago
how old is ur brother and i dont think he will like it very much cos it scared me and my brother when we went on it and my bro is 19. i almost killed my grandma aswell. but apart from the scariness its still a good ride
shadow7790 3 years ago
My little brother is only 10. He's pretty brave for his age, but he might be a little nervous. Wow, he was 19? Must be some good ride to scare a 19 year old. :]
xcloudxburstx 3 years ago
hehe still theres nothing to worry about he shud be fine.

Haha, alright. ^^
