Song is played in 8/4, Bass is played along with Bass drum on the off, syncopated on the 1. And who cares, it's a nice song, enjoy the music, if you don't like what you hear or it irritates your obviously professional music ears, go listen to something else.
@craanbaI can see/hear what he is doing, but for example at 1:21, that kick/bass hit doesn't syncopate at all, it's on like 1/16 note or something and just irritates the ear.
Saw these guys at the BAT centre in Durban just before i left for the UK in 1997. No Regrets. Being European, I knew the shallow waters would catch up. Lyrics reach us in different ways. Music is universal. Come back JJ. xx
Your special song is really a pearl in the world of songs. I spent more than 20 years in South Africa. See my videos too if u like!. Artur Maria Simbürger.
ive been in england for 12 years and still miss it and my family and friends everyday!!! Ive loved these guys for years too. im proud to be south african and will always call myself south african! Listening to these always remind me of home. oh and by the way the are awesome live!
First album I ever bought these guys are absolute superstars. If u dont know them listen to them 12 years down the line, there music is still awesome.
This song always reminds me of my first ever online friend. She lived just outside Jo'burg and this was the first song she ever sent me. A long time ago now but I still remember her fondly.
Love it. I saw them New Years, back either in '95 or '96 or '97, it was at Roxy's in Melville. Anybody go see them, it was in Jo'burg. I went to school with Denholm (Benoni High) he was not with them then. For those of you that know him, I remember he would always spin his notebooks on his fingers and play with his pens or pencils on his desk or notebook ( just drumming away). I am a true fan and love the memories of the good old RSA. Thanks Guys!!!
holy shit this brings back memories. i worked on their sound when they performed in umhlanga rocks easter '97. lead singer, art/ard matthews was awesome. funniest thing was the microphone kept shocking his teeth during soundcheck, lol. man i miss outh africa!
Zambian based in Brisbane, Australia. Made sure I had my "Best of Just Jinger" CD packed when I migrated to OZ. Listen to it whenever I feel like listening to really good music from the mother land.

I'm leaving shallow waters,
I'm leaving all my dreams of you,
I can't go on, I want to run away...
I think I'll go today.
Tommorow, it won't help me at all,
it won't help me at all.
There's something, that I told you and,
you don't know, that it's true,
oh, that it's true now ...
