He has his eye on the long term project of keeping this country safe. It is at the top of his priority list. He will not allow another country to come in and destroy the democracy and sovereignty of this nation. On the contrary, his goal is to safeguard against totalitarians from decimating our freedom.

Wow, angry guy, chill out. You are zeroing in and not looking at the whole picture. Take a deep breath, keep your cool, then think rationally. Do you really believe Thompson would lead this country down the road of European values and chaos? Maybe we aren't on the same page, maybe your lightyears ahead of me intellectually, but I see and hear a good, moral man willing to take the gloves off and fight for this country. You haven't changed my mind.

I respect your opinion, but if Thompson is truly going to distance himself from globalist policies, why does he need membership in an organization which spews globalist propoganda and blatant lies regarding NAFTA and trade treaties between the US and neighboring countries.

Of course I don't believe Fred Thompson is a diabolical, evil man intending on destroying the US. I'm sure he is a principled, moral man. It is not who is President, though, but rather, who is his aides and cabinet members. Go through the history of past administrations, and you will find them littered with CFR members. How can an individual disavow certain policies when his actions tell otherwise.

I don't know how you feel about President Bush, but look at his cabinet. Bush gets things done his way. I'm sure there are those behind the scene who try to disuade the man, but he is on a mission to keep this country safe from terrorism, and damnit, I applaud him for it. That and the fact he got two great supreme court judges, Roberts and Alito. Fred is determined to do the same. He will continue the conservative trend. I want my President to care like that.

Go Fred. Some people don't realize that he has been a staunch conservative in the Senate since the Reagan administration. Sticks to the issues, no wavering, smart, solid, well grounded. Plus has the wisdom and humor similar to Harry Truman. I hope if he gets the bid that he picks a good running mate as I believe he will. Thompson 08'
