@Mr98giuliano In this case, no. I should point out that in more recent times, I have been using D'Addario Helicore Cello strings and they sound amazing. This video is a bit dated. Please check out more recent ones on my channel. Thanks!
@renzolikescheez harmonics are quite cool. Muted notes (as you would do by left hand on guitar) do not come out the same as guitar. In fact, they are either a note (depending on how the string contact pressure is) or a harmonic. I'll see about doing a blog about this...
Thanks! It is similar in some ways (Arpeggione in particular). The difference is the playing stance, size, and modern guitar string bending/vibrato apps. (un-thinkable on Gambas)...
I didn't know you spoke Spanish. This is Alberto, from Boston. We spoke on the phone for a while. You probably talk to a lot of people, so I don't expect you to remember me. Any way, this sounds way cool.
Any guitarists out there considering purchasing one of these, this is the greatest musical journey you can ever take - not easy - but rewarding every step of the way. I love my acoustic GV. Play 20 minutes a day and just get a feel for it. Jonathan Wilson is also great to work with. 5 stars from me!
P.S. Jonathan, thanks for the mini lesson here. I've struggled with the "classical" vibrato and it never occurred to me that you don't have to press the string down to make it happen.
Hey this is Itch... wow love love the different expressive techniques possible on the guiltarviol... one of my big fears was not being able to translate a lot of the violin/cello techniques due to the frets but this definitely gets me uber excited! Amazing!
nylon strings?
