For everyone who's argument is that the kick was illegal, when the ball was "illegally" kicked there was 4 seconds on the clock 0:07 . Even the most homered clock referee couldn't have allowed 4 seconds to tick off. The pass would have been incomplete and Nebraska would have had the ball with 4 second left on the clock and it would have been 4th down. Even if Davison wouldn't have caught the "illegal" pass there would/should have been 2 seconds left on the clock with 4th down to come.

the REASON NU didn't play UM for the national championship wasn't on NU. being in the big10 at the time, UM HAD to play in the rosebowl against the pac10 champion no matter what. don't blame that on NU and take away our undefeated championship season because of that. we wanted to play UM, we wanted to play anybody. unfortunately UM and the Big10 couldn't make that happen. same exact thing goes for Penn St in 1994. both seasons we played the #3 team cause u couldnt play us!

Probably the best way to sum up what I am saying about Nebraska losing to Power Running, Play Action Passing, Passing, football teams is this. 9 out of 10 times Nebraska will lose to Iowa, and Wisconsin and Alabama, Nebraska had no answer for UCLA back when UCLA played this style of football and they were an equal calibur team in the 1980's. The second reason why Mizzou and every college football team in America does not respect Nebraska is due to the style of football which Nebraska plays. Every college football program laughs at Nebraska and there is a very old JOKE about Nebraska. The joke goes like this. Most people don't realize that the reason why Mizzou fans talk so much shit about Nebraska in this game is for two very good reasons. NCAA rules clearly state that no player is allowed to kick a football unless it is a Kicker or a Punter kicking a kick off, an Extra Point, a Punt, or a Onside Kick. This play should have resulted in a 5 yard penalty agains't Nebraska and the play being redone.

This was a heartbreaker. I was standing on the fence, at that end zone, watching that play occur. This play took away our chance to beat the #1 ranked team, and even more infamous than our 5th down catastrophy against #1 ranked colorado. Well, hopefully NU/MU end up in the Big 10 together... the REASON NU didn't play UM for the national championship wasn't on NU. being in the big10 at the time, UM HAD to play in the rosebowl against the pac10 champion no matter what. don't blame that on NU and take away our undefeated championship season because of that. we wanted to play UM, we wanted to play anybody. unfortunately UM and the Big10 couldn't make that happen. same exact thing goes for Penn St in 1994. both seasons we played the #3 team cause u couldnt play us!

Probably the best way to sum up what I am saying about Nebraska losing to Power Running, Play Action Passing, Passing, football teams is this. 9 out of 10 times Nebraska will lose to Iowa, and Wisconsin and Alabama, Nebraska had no answer for UCLA back when UCLA played this style of football and they were an equal calibur team in the 1980's. In my lifetime Nebraska has lost 9 out of 10 games against Stanford and Auburn and California and Oregon, for the reason I mentioned above.

Sad fact is that 9 out of 10 times when Nebraska plays an equal calibur school that uses power running football and normal passing and play action passing after successful power running, NEBRASKA 9 OUT OF 10 TIMES GETS DESTROYED. The second reason why Mizzou and every college football team in America does not respect Nebraska is due to the style of football which Nebraska plays. Every college football program laughs at Nebraska and there is a very old JOKE about Nebraska. The joke goes like this. Most people don't realize that the reason why Mizzou fans talk so much shit about Nebraska in this game is for two very good reasons. NCAA rules clearly state that no player is allowed to kick a football unless it is a Kicker or a Punter kicking a kick off, an Extra Point, a Punt, or a Onside Kick. This play should have resulted in a 5 yard penalty agains't Nebraska and the play being redone.

This was a heartbreaker. I was standing on the fence, at that end zone, watching that play occur. This play took away our chance to beat the #1 ranked team, and even more infamous than our 5th down catastrophy against #1 ranked colorado. Well, hopefully NU/MU end up in the Big 10 together... I think both teams have a solid program now and will make waves in the upcoming decade.

He was not trying to kick it to another player which is illegal. In order for the play/kick to be illegal, the official would have to be 100% certain that the player was trying INTENTIONALLY to kick the ball to another player, any doubt and play is legal! Both the Big 8 and NCAA HEAD of OFFICIALS stated the played was called correctly!

how is nebraska the choke artist of the century? how many conference titles do they have? how many national championships do they have? what is their win percentage and how many teams have won more games than nebraska this century? look up these stats and then come back and say they are choke artists.

Guys to be honest, you can't really compare teams from different decades and eras. Athletes are getting better and stronger every year, and the teams of today are obviously better than the teams of the past. The '01 Miami team was the best team of '01, and the '95 NU team was the best team of '95. Just let it stay that way. BTW: Flea Kicker is a CLASSIC.
