  • its good but i am a fan of stereo amplifier more than dsp(what ever)i am currently using sherwood am-7040 power amp with 200 watts to pump into 4, 8ohms speakers..the result is more than satisfying.with this i know many will agree.

  • bought me A yamaha rx-v2600 in 2007 and only used it 6 months. was stored in my basement (moisture free) for 3 years and just recently reused it. it played for a few mins then i lost all sound and can't get it back. paid $1400 for it and i am pissed! help :(

  • @blkattk2

There's no such thing as moisture free basement.

It automatically collects it if no equipment measures are used all summer. Like dehumidifiers, AC, fans, heater, If shower is used there.

Use instrument in basement to measure it compared to upper level.

Store items like this under bed in it's box rapped in plastic.

  • @Philscbx well in any case turns out the reciever was fine all along. it was the fuses in my cerwin vegas that blew. replaced em and now i'm back! :)

  • @blkattk2

NICE, because one has to have this class of power.

I'm somewhat a rookie with my Rxv3900 for the past year.

These things are beasts to learn complete. Maybe 50% so far.

I don't have the typical Theater being the system is in my Monster Garage w/2 52" Sam's & split between office/shop.

Can't be missing the action just getting a beer.

Was yours boxed all that time, or sitting out?

I'd be tempted to look inside to make sure it's dustless.

    Cheers

  • @Philscbx i kept a towel wrapped over the vents and a shoe box with cd's on top of it. so i guess you can say it was boxed lol. but man did i forget how good this thing sound. crystal clear and very very loud.! it dims my lights when the bass hits at loud volumes. my speakers are cerwin vega's 3 way w/15" subs (spl 101) 4 ohm. my receiver is rated at 135 watts at 8 ohms. so it must be putting out close to 200 watts a channel. and let me tell you hearing is believing!!!

  • @Philscbx It's called fucking Australia (or any other dry place). I come from Melbourne the air there is bone dry. In summer it's worst. So a basement there is actualy a very nice place in summer.

  • @Neojhun

I was in Melbourne tail end of summer for 3 months, it rained almost everyday the last week.

That's why basements are cool, it's where all the coldest wettest air goes.

    WTF's your rant..

The guy never Ckd the basic Fkg rules of why there is no power output.

If the Fkg Ltbulb doesn't come on, probably some Fkg electrons missing.

  • Great receiver, great video!

  • HDMI Passthrough? Fail.

  • I bought this model two years ago for $1,600 and never looked back.

It's powering 5 Klipsch reference speakers.

Love the features and multi zone outputs.

It's heavy! You should see the power transformer in it - it's HUGE.

So, yeah - my home theater receiver has an IP address... so cool.

  • @pmgodfrey

Dam right the bastard is heavy.

My RXV3900 sits on 16" dia precision bearing vs gripping the glass shelf.

I alway have to rotate it, to get access.

Now, just one finger effort, and sits 1/2" higher for better air flow.

It's a bitch learning all the features. It powers two separate systems in different rooms, including two Samsung's. All Klipsch reference as well.

The farmer across the road doesn't have a clue it's my Pink Floyd concerts making the corn that big.

  • @Philscbx

It still works great, -- but I've added a second home theater which is using an Anthem Statement D2v processor and the Anthem Statement A5 amplifier. Speakers for that one are the Paradigm Studio 100's, and two Paradigm SUB 12's.

When comparing $12,000 worth of processor and amplifier to the RX-V2700 -- there is no comparison. The Anthem is in a class of it's own.

  • @pmgodfrey

    Beautiful gear.

See thread 'Paradigm Sub 12 & Sub 15' at avsforum.

I'm sure you're no stranger there.

I visit the dedicated thread for my RXV3900 quite often to get tips,

almost 200 pages. 2 yrs, and Still learning the beast.

I like my RT10 Klipsch Subs, & RC-62's in the shop.

The 3900 seems just about right running 2 systems at almost full power.

I've noticed the corn across the road is taller in that zone.

    Cheers

  • @pmgodfrey only $1.600? that's not much for what it is

  • nice vid
