its sounds slitely rushed at the start i think with th strings but th flute part is good. we just played this wen we went on tour last week. its a good piece to play. also you didnt speed up really at any point which you are ment to. other than that i thort it was great!!
A great choice for finale to a great concert. I was there and listened to the sounds of approval and watched the twice standings of ovation to the Blue Ridge Orchestra.
It's funny how American orchestras always think this piece is Irish. Billy Jackson is a great traditional musician, I can't believe they made him, along with the other traditional musicians here, play that piece. They all look like they're marching to the gallows!
The reprise was twice as fast as the rest of the piece. Typical of non-traditional musicians to think it is more impressive to play tunes fast than it is to play them well.
Jackson was having a bad day all around. I think his group did fine with just themselves, but when it came to playing with a large orchestra, you could tell they weren't very well rehearsed.

So if it isn't Irish, perhaps it's Celtic?
