  • hehehe, nice background music...very soothing =D

  • Next year Fo plant them in the ground They do a lot better the browning is over watered I planted tomatoes in bucket They turn brown like your hops

  • How are these looking now? it's been about 3-4 weeks since you posted this video.. i'm thinking of growing hops as well, but i live close to Barrie On, i'm not sure if the climate here would allow me to grow them... do you plan on transplanting them out of the pots and into the ground eventually?

  • They look great. I planted some this year as well. I have Centennial and Willamette.

  • @makebeer Its a good hobby isn't it? I still gotta get one of those new DIY beer kits. It looks like a great kit.

  • Gah, ignore anything I said about Irish Moss, there seems to be 2 different things called Irish moss? One is seaweed one is actual moss =).

If anybody wonders, i just deleted a post about growing your own Irish Moss.. ;-)

  • Awesome! Looks like a fun project.

  • @immolateus Thanks. If you like gardening its pretty cool.

  • Nice man, you've inspired me to grow my own hops now. Next season I'll be planting some for sure. Hope to see some brewing next season with these hops! GJ

  • Respond to this video... I hope so too. Thanks!

  • @weirdbeer I'm struggling to find actual plants to buy right now as it's end of season. I've found a nursery that will send me the rhizomes (roots) from about 20 different species, but I will have to wait until next year to receive them. The hops I know I would like are Saaz, halertau, fuggle, goldings - but I'm not sure how many I should try to grow =). Keep us updated with your plants when you come to harvest. I might make some vids myself, but I'm lazy =P

  • If your not watering too much it might be the soil. Test the ph of your soil. Want it to be fairly balanced. Some types of hops just do that the first couple years cause of the stress

  • @madchef69 Thank you. I might be over watering.

  • You might be over watering. Hops don't like too much water maybe every 2-3 days depending on weather also some fertilizer won't hurt. Mulch the top about 2-3 inches as well.

  • Don't worry, they'll do much better next year.

  • great vid man. hope to get some growing next year myself

  • @videoMC2010 They grow like crazy, its pretty entertaining.

  • Don't worry that normal. they will form big cones and the brown fingers will fall off. Nothing can eat the leaves fast enough and they will come in bigger and stronger every year.

  • @dorf68 Awesome. I thought that the cones would stay brown. Thanks!

  • @dorf68 Wow. A couple days really makes a difference. My hops are bigger and the brown is falling off.

  • hey fo can u have a look at my beer reviews and give me some advice

  • @DevonHomeBrew Sure thing.
