  • Great vid! I think Iowa Interstate should get a British or German loco next

  • Good day

    Ha ha!

2 thumbs up! I love steam trains! I never see them in my city anymore..(they were sold to India yrs ago from what I heard).

.....I suspect David Suzuki was the lone "dislike" (the black smoke)

  • wonderful steam locomotives

  • Love it!!!

  • thats longer than my cock!

  • The way freight was meant to be hauled, by steam.

  • Fantastic video, favourited, also, do these 2 steam trains run on the IAIS lines anymore, or are they stored?

  • The Iowa Interstate runs them for special occasions only. I believe the rest of the time they're kept at a facility in Newton, IA.

  • @EverywhereWest aanyway to get advanced nloticed of their runs? i wanna see these

  • If you subscribe to Trains magazine, the Trains News Wire on trains.com will usually alert you of the excursions, that's how I found out about this one. You can also look for information on Iowa Interstate's website at iaisrr.com

  • @EverywhereWest There gonna be at Trainfestival 2011 in Rock Island, Illinois.

  • There's also rumors that at least one of the QJ's will be attneding Train Festival 2011 next year in Rock Island July 21st-24th, but nothing's been confirmed yet.

  • @BNSF9250 There gonna be at Trainfestival 2011 in Rock Island, Illinois.

  • Great video, very nice lash-up and those QJ's have really nice Chinese whistels.

  • Freakin cool locomotive! Nice video too! I just caught her 7081 here in Des Moines!

  • judging by the amount of smoke and steam coming up the stack, those locos were getting a good workout :D

  • I hope Iowa Interstate brings them out again soon.

  • Wow, a great video! 5*

I like the contrast of the high-tech hybrid car in the beginning and then the powerful steam locomotive!

    Great job man!

    Greetings from Bavaria!

  • Thanks! It was awesome to see these engines.

  • Great Video!!!

  • Very great video with very good sound!!!

    5 ★★★★★

  • how often (if ever again) do they do this, is there a site or something for it?

  • I hope the USA will buy more of the QJS so they don't get cut up how truly sad that thought is.Man thats sweet to see on video but i never have got to see a live steam train.I did go see one thats been sitting parked for years. Not the same thought. Thanks for the great video,

  • Man, I wish I could have seen people faces. That's the one aggravating thing about these videos. I love steam train videos, but one of the most exciting things about being there is looking around and seeing the look of awe and surprise and shock on peoples faces around you. I wish someone would make one of these videos by having the main camera record the train, but then a couple smaller/cheaper cameras just getting reaction shots from people. Hell I'd pay money for that. =]

  • She runs on Clean Coal. =]

  • Yeah right lol

  • hey take it form so body who lives in west liberty and yes i do i go to school there we r the west liberty commets and we r in easter iowa it is not that fun here there is nothing to do and the train r really anoying

  • LOL thanks for the comment

  • WOW that was absolutelly amazing thanks for posting it..I will be going over to China this year in November to see the last of the surviving steam overthere and we will be pulled over the famous Jing Ping Pass on a passenger train behind what we were told was the last two surving class of these QJ locomotives in China plus we will see the industrial lines still running stean but I am there for those two QJ's

  • I think they got a few in storage they are going to sell. So maybe ten to fifty are left.

  • thats cool susposibly we are going to be pulled by the last two operating ones in China when I go there and several smaller steam locomotives as well but the two QJ locomotives will pull our train over the Jing Ping pass line that they were built for

  • it looks like this is the closest I will ever get to seeing chineese QJs I was just informed a few days ago that the Chineese railways shot down out dea to run the last two running QJs over the Jing pass line they said it was too expensive but I will still see the last survivers in the steel mills and a coal mineing railroad as well as a 2 foot narrow gauge logging railway but it was the QJs i was looking foward to seeing oh well

  • so, where can I find information on their operation schedual, or where they are kept? Or wait, lemme guess, now that I have discovered there are QJs in the US, they aren't running now?

  • Qj is more capable of hauling fright train than passenger train. lol Speed is QJ's defect.

The BLACK smoke looks awesome, probably because of the coal is different.

  • QJs were designed for freight. It can pull a lot of stuff, but the top speed is only around 90Km/h(about 50MPH).

  • l;ove the whistle and all that smoke.

  • that was a great video.

  • the was a great video.that was a lot of smoke too.

  • Great Shot! Love all the smoke rolling up from the locomotives.
