  • This show at the Bandshell in Daytona Beach was the first time I ever saw Cheap Trick live.

I stopped by the show on the way to work. I was watching from the west wall in front of that row of since-demolished houses. I can still remember all the residents who lived there watching from their front porches. I've caught Cheap Trick about five more times since then. They're still awesome. The 1980s were a GREAT time to be in Daytona, especially in the spring. Thanks for posting!

  • HA! I love it @ :58-- Rick Nielsen runs across the stage! Cheap Trick have always been a very fun band, esp. live!!

  • Bun E has a little smile at the antic.........good call

  • I was at this concert. They sounded great and were on their way to something of a comeback, at the time, but ruined it with their next record. Always a great live act, though.

  • why did people hate busted so much? I thought it as a great album

  • i wonder the same thing probably cuz it was wimpeyer than one on one even tho i though one on one sounded like a tin can

  • So glad I found this...I was wondering if anyone still had it. These guys STILL rock!!

  • Zander, the Clint Eastwood of music.

  • They were right on the cusp of getting it all back and then they came out with Busted and that ended that. Their record label back then, EPIC, never understood them and tried to reshape them into something they weren't. People would go see them live and would be shocked at hard they were. Left to their own devices these guys would have should have been massive ala the who

  • I think you might have nailed it. I first knew them from Budokan so I knew what it was all about. My sweetie, who loves the Who, heard CT live for the first time last year and commented on how hard they were and he really likes them and especially Rick. I guess he was surprised at that.

I usually like a band with a great rhythm guitar but this is the one exception to that. This is power pop at it best.

  • Man, thanks for adding these! Isn't there a part where Rick brings out the 5-neck guitar, though? I totally remember that, because he almost fell over at some point because it was so heavy.lol

If you have the rest, PLEASE add it!

  • Rick, you are soooo funny!!

Whoever uploaded these parts 1-2-3, thanxs for the memories. I appreciate it.

those were some good times for me way back when.
