It is insane to think it is fine, and if you do so, the Quran and hadiths are against such people and they are out of the fold of islam. It is very explicit in this matter. No one person can be the judge, jury and executionar.

Islam is not exactly = peace. Islam it means submission. = Action in the Willing of Allah (God) and his prophet. The word Islam it cames from the verb Aslama, meaning: surrender. And all the meanings on this terms and verbs, including Salaam (Peace), all they are related to obedience or to give up to something that is beyond of your self. The Scholar ha written a book where he has compliled from the Quran, Sunnah and athoritive Ulema, That is Ashura of ulama.

At least read the book first and then say if he is using his own judement and then you can say where is the ashura.
