No one's probably gonna read this, but I’ll say it anyway cuz I feel at least 1 person will. I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.
If you just take a min and give me a chance I'll make you a believer. I would love nothing more than to have a loyal following on youtube. If anyone who reads this could press the "THUMBS UP" others will see it. Just a simple button push will make a huge difference.
I got this single! looks hand drawn with a child holding balloons with faces inside them. also i got 'A celebration' i think also fairly rare. both fantastic condition.
Bono is a raving right wing loopy hypocrit avoiding paying his tax`s does he think he can take it all with him when he dies. He talks about eradicating poverty, helping the poor etc what an evil IRISH ARSE HOLE. wayne roony and many buisness men many pop stars should hold there heads in shame
This was released as a single in ireland before the boy album but was never featured on the album. Is now available on the remastered boy album disc 2
dont think so . the only other release around that time was their first, U2 three EP which featured out of control, stories for boys, Boy girl, All early versions different to boy album. Available on 7" and 12" single formats maybe on cassette aswell not sure. Another Day featured in a four 7" single pack later on called U2 FOUR PLAY with the Three ep, I will follow and 11 0 Clock tick tock, possibly available on cassette aswell not sure. All Now available on Disc 2 of Remastered boy
@ermarauder The Beatles didn't burn out... they all hated each other. Even after they broke up, they still continued to be great (except Ringo... but Ringo was just there as simplistic entertainment). And yet, I've always considered U2 as the Beatles of the 80s. Not sure why.
@footstomper1 Musically speaking... his solo career wasn`t as satisfactory as the other 3`s careers. I only wish there was still people like Ringo as voice-overs for kids shows.
Kittichan, this demo version is 'better' than the 'real single',... really, it has a longer and thicker sounding guitar intro. Set's the presence better than the single version.
I used to have '4 U2 Play', a set of 4 singles in orange, yellow and black vinyl, and this was one of the singles, with Touch on the b-side. There was also 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, U23, (Out of Control) and Twilight. It was an Eire promotional set and I bought it for £7.99 from my local music store in 1983, but when I got evicted from my house, the council took all of my possesions to a tip instead of storing them, and it was gone. Gutted, it was my prized U2 possesion.
non-album track. was there second single in 1980 after Three. Guess I mixed it up with 1979, because I only got this demo version from a compilation of very very old U2 demos when I made this video.
is that compilation that you've got available on stores? I'm for this song, ,"11 O'Clock Tick Tock" and the EP "Three" on a CD format. Could you tell me where can I find it?
got it from a seller on ebay. I asked him where he found this and he told me that it's sold in Australia. He send me a copy. Maybe if you google for "Dark And Day" you'll find it. I also got copies from 11 O'clock tick tock and Three ^^
Ive Been A fan of U2 since 1982,but it took until the mid 80's and the discovery of Joy Division to realize how much U2 owes to the death of Ian Curtis. Once He died U2 took JD's Photographer(Anton Corbjn)and changed their Whole image. If Ian Doesn't die then they are the ones with world wide success.
In February 1980, the single "Another Day" was released on the CBS label, but only for the Irish market. It was their second song from an EP called "Three".
Early U2 pics make me laugh profusley!I love them anyway!I will always listen to their music as long as I have an ipod an MP3 player an stereo an radio...a record player(that one was for giggles)or a mouth!
Beautiful work man! Thank you to give us the possibility to listen this song! I never heard Another Day before! I love U2 the best band in the world with the best guys in the music world!!!

@Reed488 Almost punk? This is extremely far away from being a punk song. No where near. This is sweet child rock.

I can't agree.I thought U2 were to credit and that if any photographer was due credit that would have been Anton Corbijn(inho)
Bono's singing and performance style coupled with Edge's giant sound(like echoey chimes, tiny icecles, chord splashes,...)...THAT's what made them.
tinrooflighthouse 3 years ago 2
As far as I'm concerned Edge's playing always stood out from guitars from The Cure,The Cult,Smiths,...it was more chimey, bigger and more identifiable.
This song is older and he was still developing his trademark style into what we know now.His sound is uniquely his, kind of a salient niche.
