  • No one's probably gonna read this, but I’ll say it anyway cuz I feel at least 1 person will. I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.

If you just take a min and give me a chance I'll make you a believer. I would love nothing more than to have a loyal following on youtube. If anyone who reads this could press the "THUMBS UP" others will see it. Just a simple button push will make a huge difference.

  • I got this single! looks hand drawn with a child holding balloons with faces inside them. also i got 'A celebration' i think also fairly rare. both fantastic condition.

  • Esta canción es del año en que nací... U2 nació junto conmigo y ha sido tan importante en mi vida... Bono eres maravilloso te amo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • Bono is a raving right wing loopy hypocrit avoiding paying his tax`s does he think he can take it all with him when he dies. He talks about eradicating poverty, helping the poor etc what an evil IRISH ARSE HOLE. wayne roony and many buisness men many pop stars should hold there heads in shame

  • Some are destined to be great...warriors for the needy and soul tamers for the weary...

  • Wow, this song is almost a Punk song. I never guessed I would have heard a song like this from U2.

  • @Reed488 Almost punk? This is extremely far away from being a punk song. No where near. This is sweet child rock.

  • "I believe in the walls of Jericho!"

Instant WWE message shot through my head.

  • I was thinking this might be a Paul McCartney cover when I saw it. God U2 sucks.

  • @CityslickCaptain They were teenagers when they made this song/recording. This is good sweet rock, child rock.

  • love this song

  • Yes, U2 existed before of with or without you and The Joshua tree,Too many songs remain forgotten like this. thanks to youtube and Kittichan

  • This is there first single, u2-3 was an ep

  • @bonodk U23 was also made into a single after the initial EP release, which is only a matter of 12" as the EP, and 7" as the single.

  • Has anyone else noticed that this is the only band to come out of the punk/post-punk/goth/new wave scene that is still having hits today?

  • one of the early u2 songs that was played on wlir who discovered u2 and brang them to NY

  • The "perfect" (or "ideal") band...

  • i have this on vinyl, what a classic !!

  • The greatest forgotten U2 song?

  • new wave? it's sound like this:D

  • punk?:D

  • sounds like the smashing pumpkins in parts, weird... cool song though, i love the early stuff...

  • Whenever I hear the beginning of this I think of Kiss :)

  • im lovin the beginning and end segments where it goes slower before picking up again.

  • You certainly know your U2!

Then what I saw at half price long ago was probably one of those you mentioned.

    Thanks for the info!

  • wow it's just perfect

  • wow

  • thanks, man. I don't think I've ever heard this one. I'd like to find more of their unreleased and b-sides, etc.

  • This was released as a single in ireland before the boy album but was never featured on the album. Is now available on the remastered boy album disc 2

  • @brenU2 Cool, isn't there a copy of an unreleased U2 album that came out in '79?

I swore I found one of their cassette tapes at

Half Price Books a long time ago.

  • dont think so . the only other release around that time was their first, U2 three EP which featured out of control, stories for boys, Boy girl, All early versions different to boy album. Available on 7" and 12" single formats maybe on cassette aswell not sure. Another Day featured in a four 7" single pack later on called U2 FOUR PLAY with the Three ep, I will follow and 11 0 Clock tick tock, possibly available on cassette aswell not sure. All Now available on Disc 2 of Remastered boy

  • so awesome and much underrated for sure!

  • no cabe duda U2 el mas grande de todos los tiempos

  • U2 is influenced here quite much about the new wave/punk style of those days.

  • como eu addooorrooo os rapazes do u2, Bono voce é lindo demais, quanto mais o tempo passa mais sex voce fica... love you

  • I remember this one; but with clearer vocals, different version, I guess.

  • What's the name of the font you used?

  • it's called Kramer

  • fun

  • La miglior canzone degli U2 dei primi tempi

  • Thank You for sharing....sounds a bit like story for boys...:)X

  • I Want to have the Three EP! SO RARE

  • i love this song and video! the old pictures are GREAT!

  • An early "Bad" mixed with "Vertigo".

  • them and nirvana, best bands ever!!!!

  • such potential, sad how they burned out, oh no, that was the beatles. this is u2 , best band fucking ever

  • lol

  • YAY-UH!! :D

  • good one!

  • @ermarauder best comment ever

  • @ermarauder Yeah a real shame they became regarded as one of, if not THE, most influential band ever. Those bums!

  • @ermarauder The Beatles didn't burn out... they all hated each other. Even after they broke up, they still continued to be great (except Ringo... but Ringo was just there as simplistic entertainment). And yet, I've always considered U2 as the Beatles of the 80s. Not sure why.

  • @GuyWithNoName67 RINGO, NOT GREAT!? HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN... THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE

  • @footstomper1 Musically speaking... his solo career wasn`t as satisfactory as the other 3`s careers. I only wish there was still people like Ringo as voice-overs for kids shows.

  • que buena cancion y que buenas fotos

  • better than anything on new album

  • I'm absolutely in love with this song!!

    I love Bono's voice..so young,so pure

U2 the best band in the world..by far!!!

  • Kittichan, this demo version is 'better' than the 'real single',... really, it has a longer and thicker sounding guitar intro. Set's the presence better than the single version.

  • They are great.

  • I used to have '4 U2 Play', a set of 4 singles in orange, yellow and black vinyl, and this was one of the singles, with Touch on the b-side. There was also 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, U23, (Out of Control) and Twilight. It was an Eire promotional set and I bought it for £7.99 from my local music store in 1983, but when I got evicted from my house, the council took all of my possesions to a tip instead of storing them, and it was gone. Gutted, it was my prized U2 possesion.

  • I like paramore's version too

  • Paramore didnt do a cover......they have a song called another day..lol

  • paul mccartney has a song called another day also! wow eh..

  • Comment removed

  • So do The Cure!!! ;O

  • They should start playing this live again!

  • This was released in 1980!!

  • U2 rocks!!!

  • Not bad at all

  • The demo version of Another Day is the best, better than the single, longer sludgier intro is way more cool

  • does anybody know when htis was orginally realeased??

  • Brilliant vid about brilliant band...PEACE

  • The one thing I absolutely LOVE about Bono is no matter how old or how young he was... his voice never cahnged at all...

  • That´s true, Elvis's voice is different in the 70s and the 50s for instance. Both voices are excellent but sound different.

  • crazy hair

  • this was like one of the first songs u2 ever made and it rocks big time!

  • fabulous! Thanks for posting this!

  • KittichanU2: Thank you for posting this. This was new to me! You can really hear the classic U2 sound beginning to take shape.

  • does anyone know where can I find this song,"11 O'Clock Tick Tock" and the EP "Three" on a CD format?

  • On the just released Boy Remastered CD, with a bonus CD including lots of singles, B-sides, early demo's and live stuff.

They did the same for October and War

  • i absolutly lu dis song it rocks

    so dus da band

    rock on u2

  • Wow! I love this song! But I would like to know where you got all of these photos from U2's early days?

  • google. ^^ really hard to find, I got them from several u2 galleries, but don't ask me how long it took me to have so many of them...

  • I've been a U2 fan since long ago, but I've only discovered this song in the age of Youtube! Thanks for the post KittichanU2!

  • This is One of My Favourite U2 Tracks. I Just Love This Version. Pure U2

  • this was Feb 1980, was recorded December 1979 though

  • What album is this from?

  • non-album track. was there second single in 1980 after Three. Guess I mixed it up with 1979, because I only got this demo version from a compilation of very very old U2 demos when I made this video.

  • is that compilation that you've got available on stores? I'm for this song, ,"11 O'Clock Tick Tock" and the EP "Three" on a CD format. Could you tell me where can I find it?

  • got it from a seller on ebay. I asked him where he found this and he told me that it's sold in Australia. He send me a copy. Maybe if you google for "Dark And Day" you'll find it. I also got copies from 11 O'clock tick tock and Three ^^

  • Great song and even better photo catalogue

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • Ive Been A fan of U2 since 1982,but it took until the mid 80's and the discovery of Joy Division to realize how much U2 owes to the death of Ian Curtis. Once He died U2 took JD's Photographer(Anton Corbjn)and changed their Whole image. If Ian Doesn't die then they are the ones with world wide success.

  • I can't agree.I thought U2 were to credit and that if any photographer was due credit that would have been Anton Corbijn(inho)

Bono's singing and performance style coupled with Edge's giant sound(like echoey chimes, tiny icecles, chord splashes,...)...THAT's what made them.

  • As far as I'm concerned Edge's playing always stood out from guitars from The Cure,The Cult,Smiths,...it was more chimey, bigger and more identifiable.

This song is older and he was still developing his trademark style into what we know now.His sound is uniquely his, kind of a salient niche.

  • Check out, WITHIN TEMPTATION-Another Day.

  • i love U2. One of my main influences into music.

  • In February 1980, the single "Another Day" was released on the CBS label, but only for the Irish market. It was their second song from an EP called "Three".

  • the first single from u2

  • Actually - it was their second single. The first was a 3-song 7-incher called "Three" which had Out of Control, Stories For Boys and Boy/Girl.

  • In an interview I have of Bono talking in '81- he mentions Larry being 15 when they recorded "The Fool"...

  • Early U2 pics make me laugh profusley!I love them anyway!I will always listen to their music as long as I have an ipod an MP3 player an stereo an radio...a record player(that one was for giggles)or a mouth!

  • It's funny, they were like 14-16 when they first wrote and performed this, right?

  • no, they were about 18

  • This song is such a gem - one of my favorites of the lesser-known U2 songs. Wouldn't it be awesome to hear them play this live?

  • Beautiful work man! Thank you to give us the possibility to listen this song! I never heard Another Day before! I love U2 the best band in the world with the best guys in the music world!!!

    Let's go Irishs!!!!

  • I never heared it before either. U2 was great at their beginning. Outerplanet. Lets go Dutch and Herman Brood

  • id love a copy of dark and day if thats possible? that was amazing....first time i heard the song!!

  • Allright. =)

  • hei i want the file tooo....

  • I could try to upload it and then send it to you.

  • Good job, my friend. Pictures are so cool, it's hard to find them. Congratulations!

  • and FYI, these pics arent all from '79 . .they span form '76 - '82

  • I know that. But it's hard to find so many pictures of them in those years...

  • Ah the Another Day single, origional 45' came with a very early version of Twilight aswell .. check em out

  • Awesome to the max!

  • Very cool. Could you send me the file, by any chance?

  • no problem. please send me your email adress and you will get it soon. =)
