The playing is spot on, it's perfect, as is the tone, but where's the feeling man? Hendrix was an animal on stage who put every fiber of emotion he had into his playing, something that is severely lacking from this performance unfortunately.

You are right! The Berkeley version is the first I ever heard in my life and still is my favourite.
No, it's not a Superbass, just a plexi SLP reissue made in 1995.

The SLP is stock. I think it's just a matter of good valves and good setup. The fuzz is a Dallas Arbiter reissue I bought in London in 2002.
