@videoossi This isn't Ubuntu, it's Angstrom. At this moment, there is only once case of Ubuntu running on the 101it, but the creator of that video hasn't released any details. And it's all in Russian...

@videoossi nope :/ as i know Ubuntu hasn't got touch screen input natively, but if you know what you are doing, you can fix that too. I hope that they will release a tablet version of Ubuntu as they made the netbook version earlier.

Don't suppose anyone could point me to a guide of how to do this, I have a archos 70?

@dappadon222 its very easy just go to the download page of the archos scroll all the way down to the SDE and from there download the SDE

Then turn off your archos

Turn it back on and quickly hold the volume down button

Then after a few seconds you'll come up at the recovery menu

From there click on update firmware

Plug in your usb cabel

Dragg the firmware you just downloaded in the beginning of your device

Click the power button to activate the ok fuction

@dappadon222 I suppose that you could refer to the Archos site and forum. They officially provide the Angstrom linux distribution on their site, in the download section (developer sdk). Keep in mind that you will void the warranty by installing that firmware :)

the problem is that achos says they're "opening" the file gen8's but the boot menu doesn't allow you to boot from usb... so this is a very serious pitfall for the project...

@mader2302 that is a big shame I'm on the road now and just when I got some hours to kill I would love nothing better than pull out my stick and do a live session on the fly with this tablet. I will have to delaay my troubles til I get home. I got all the stuff but I'm still trying to figure whereto put it to make it fire.

What don't you like about Angstrom linux? If you have the flexibility to try some other distros, why not try Mint linux? Or Puppy linux?

@darethehair1 yea. The distro is weak but after my finals ill work on it a little more. Mint would be ideal. Ubuntu nbr wouldnt be bad either though.
