@poohbearbo Try using the second finger of the right hand (instead of the third) - so you're blocking the second hole (RH) instead of the third hole just before the Eb key.
@BandCyRanch Well, its more of a, "here let me show you how to play it" i can play it just as good. Corruption starts at things like this and you may be ripped off, even if she deserves to be paid. you never know nowadays.
I would suggest practicing interval exercises where you start on a middle Eb-E-Eb-F-Eb-Gb, etc. all the way up to high Gb still from that same middle Eb, & make sure you can connect each increasing interval without a gap or crack in the sound. I hope that helps!
At first, it's ok to take breaths whenever you need them, just as long as they aren't breaking a slur. But once it gets close to speed, it shouldn't be too sporadic or it can affect the phrasing & throw off the meter. Basically just breathe at the rests at 4, 8, 12 & 38; breath marks at 16 & 22; I like to breathe after the double-tonguing before the pickup to 27, & the pickup E# before 31, that way you have plenty of air for the high notes & the notes until the next rest.
I listened to you play the 3 etudes and I clapped after every one!! Thank you! My teacher hasn't been able to help us so i'm listening and learning from you :)
no problem. Also, i forgot to mention about the low C... if it's the 1st note, you simply click the G key (3rd finger in left hand) to "pop" the note out a little better. And for the C at the end of the 2nd bar, that's an air connection issue that just has to be addressed with slow practice. I hope that answered your question!
it's high D to Eb with the SECOND trill key, not the 1st, as many people mistakenly, but commonly use. It's too flat if you use the 1st trill. I actually tried using my left pinky on the Ab for a while until a teacher corrected me, but it's still slightly flat compared to the 2nd trill in the right hand, plus 2nd trill is faster.
However, for those who play piccolo, you may want to use the left pinky on Ab because it's better in tune, at least on my picc it is (check tuning)
how u get the F# so good

Where do you think would be the most appropriate place to take breaths? Or should we just take breaths anywhere we can?
