Fucking love these guys.....was allowed to go to the Pacific Hotel in Lorne summer of 87' when I was 15 to see their show. I was really worried me and my mate wouldn't get in....he was 14...lol...entered bought pots of Carlton Draught and rocked out.
Most of the "yuppies" were office Johnnies having their lunch. Point the finger: three pointing back. I know who the real wankers were in that film clip.
@sonoflobby Oh, I've got a LOT of great records, never you mind, and many of them far more radical and wide ranging than either the Dockers made, or an obviously strictly "alternative"/hardcore type like yourself could fathom.
Come to think of it, Michael Bolton records are a far more radical proposition to listen to today! He had a truly fine voice, and yeah, indeed, how can we be lovers if we can't be friends?!
@dariowestern God, that is SO funny! You sound like a real life, walking, talking, wind up leftist/liberal doll! A walking leftist zombie from the 80's...trotting out the sam tired bilge! You sound like a very hack (P)Rick from the Young Ones! Don't you FEEL like an idiot, being such an idiot? What a damnable cliche. Truly sad thing being, there's actually more and more and MORE of you marching around now intoning your liberal diatribes! It'd be a laugh riot, if it weren't so awful! Wake UP!
@dariowestern Who the Hell do you think you're talking to like that? What the Fuck is your problem? What the Fuck is wrong with you? You are a stupid Bitch Ass Mother Fucker!! Stupid Ass Bitch!
DIE YUPPIE SCUM -GET OUT OF ST KILDA(1990 CHARGED GRAFFITI) V/S 20 years of school leavers learning the more you step backwards- the more you progress forwards.so iit's more like "TAKE YOUR HIGHER PLATFORM AND REALISE WHAT SCUM YOU ARE FOR NOT LOWERING IT TO OUR HIGHER POSITION CREEP!"As an attitude of the transition from school to work these days.
I"ve got the cd and vinyl this songs on; "Kiss my art", released on White Label 1988, produced by the legendary Lobby Loyde. Still listen to it on a regular basis. Ah, the memories. Paul Stewart, the singer for for die yuppie die, is the brother of Tony Stewart, one of the Balibo 5. He went on to organise the East Timor liberation gig and was a consultant to the Balibo film. Legend!
@TheKapanis That is a fantastic LP, I still have it after 22 years and listen to it occasionally. There is a documentary all about the history of the band, Balibo 5 etc on the ABC (Australia) TV program "Compass" from earlier this year if anyone is interested.
can anyone tell me where i can get hold of the bucket album. it was my first music buy at the tehder age of 14 but fear fear it is lost to me. top band
I have the MP3 of this song. I had it on video and edited using an MP3 version as it was originally on a very old video. I tried to sink this the best I could as the audio on the old VHS was terrible.
I will never forget this day or any of the others I shared with the Painters & Dockers...They were some of the very best.
Love to all of you....to Paulie who I hope is recovering well..to Col who I hope is well and well to you all, my time spent with Lobby and the Dockers were classics.
fuck! iseen dockers many times! even in my band we played "dirty filthy rock n roll" " we eat we shit we die" i love dockers. long live dockers. i need another copy of "the bucket" its worn out!
I have some more footage of the dockers but haven't had the chance to edit it yet. It was my great pleasure to have worked so closely with The Dockers for many years.
Great Stuff. I saw this band about three times in Auckland back in the eighties. Unreal gigs. The hardest "moshing" audience I have ever seen, and about ten years before there was a word to describe it. frenzy

How funny that the Painters And Dockers now are the latest fashion!
And actually have been for about the last 20 years since "alternative" went mega!
Not to mention all the right-on, leftist, pc politics they held and aired being oh so fashionable!
Funny that getting around looking like some of the "yuppies" pictured in this video would be far more of a radical statement now!
I didn't like the Painters And Dockers then, and don't now!
