People... one if God has "unconditional love" for humanity, this means by definition that it not bound by condition, so therefore doesn't stop. You do not understand the bible. When Jesus died on the cross, only the sacrificial laws were changed, not the moral laws. That was what it was supposed to change. @whiskeredtuna The ocean salinity is approx 35ppt, even if it were diluted to about 20ppt, fresh water fish such as coy,gold fish and yummy rainbow trout would not survive for 40 days in that environment, could you explain why we have these types of fresh water fish today. I am glad we do have rainbow trout because they are delicious here in BC.

His statement regarding a separation of church and state was made in the context of CT's established Congregationalist religion. He was an opponent of gov't established religions but believed a belief in God was essential to the survival of our liberty.

If you say that God is holy because he is all knowing and thus would know what is best then that means that morality is a matter of reasoning ability and thus defeating your own argument of absolute good and absolute evil. I was raised in an atheist household, my children likewise, and not only do I know what is right and wrong, so do my children. What's more, half the worlds population is not christian, and they know right from wrong too.

You do not understand the bible. When Jesus died on the cross, only the sacrificial laws were changed, not the moral laws. That was what it was supposed to change. Gods wrath, whether the laws were to have changed or not, was "justified" and that makes me sick to my stomach. Why would a supposedly all knowing God, let his creation heap condemnation upon itself? He is ultimately responsible. Might doesn't make right.

@boywhoy88 It is not just to send someone to hell for not believing that which can't be proven. Nothing about that is just. We wouldn't call it faith if we have a good reason to believe. Having faith something is true and believing something is true is not the same thing. I know my chair i'm sitting in is here, it doesn't require faith. Even people who could see and hear God, still at times rejected him. Those would be truly evil people. He would weed out good from bad showing himself tangibly.

@boywhoy88 Like someone already pointed out the whole "Jesus" incident only takes care of sacrificial laws according to the Bible. It clearly states that (quoting best of my memory) "...even though the (Levitical) laws are for the Jews every gentile has knowledge of the law in his heart". These laws include stoning unruly children. Jesus said "I come not to abolish the law but to fulfill the law.". That means your "Jesus" supports those disgusting laws.

Listen, I don't believe in deities, but I don't subscribe to the big bang. I don't have enough compelling evidence to believe that's what happened. But there is ZERO evidence that a "who" had anything to do with matter or the universe. There is no justification to believe that a deity or group of deities made anything.
I don't know as to HOW the universe came to be, IF it came to be at all. Life's too short for that to even MATTER to me.

@boywhoy88 How does lightning form? Is Zeus shooting lightning bolts from the sky? What about hurricanes? Do they make themselves? Is a "god" or "satan" or whatever you want to claim forming hurricanes? Or has science already discovered the answer to what is lightning or hurricanes? They have..much more compelling explanations with EVIDENCE to back them up.
As time goes on science debunks that which used to be explained supernaturally. No reason to think it won't continue.

The framework of the universe began to expand, and as the cloud cooled atoms formed and the various forces of gravity, electromagnetism , strong and weak nuclear forces all became seperate things. Paine's 'Age of Reason' was published long after the Revolution. His 'Common Sense' had nothing to do with his religious belief.
The men who inspired the Revolution in Boston were Congregationalists, they were of the same denomination as the Pilgrims. Congregationalism was the official church of the colony.
Jefferson did not believe Christianity was one of the worst religions. He considered himself a Christian.
