I can tell there dead because mine are the same way..So you can still use them until you get new ones try pulling back through your foot and heel and it helps a lot so you don't go over your box and hurt yourself
oh and also about your comment on someone elses comment above, it doesnt matter how strong your feet are, you dont go up on pointe with your feet, you go on pointe with your whole body, and technique really matters too.
Can i give you a tip? Well you should really wear pink tights while in pointe shoes. black ones restrict the look of your arches to a minimum, but if you wear pink your arches seem like they are bulging out. just a tip! :)
im usre youve got this alot but please! do not do pointe on carpet i did when i first got them and the bottem of my box was ruined i went to my teacher and she says that not only will it hurt your shoes but your feet too so yeah
Hmm.. I saw someone else asking, so I might as well ask something myself (even if you aren't pro XD). I've loved ballet since forever, went to it 3 times but wasn't accepted so just went along and did other stuff. I'm now 17, and practising "for fun" with my cousin each week. I have pretty strong feet already. If I went and got pro training, how long do you think it'd take for me to be able to wear pointe? I already tried my cousins (that are two sizes too small XD)
make sure ur second position is smaller 'cause otherwise its harder to get fully onto the platform, but other than that ur really good, keep it up!!!!!!
i have been doing pointe for 5 years now since I was 11. It was very hard at first. Your arches are great but try in second to not lean on your pinky toe. Other wise it was great!!!!
omg i cant wait to get my first poine shoes and be as good as you at my studio you have to be in grade 7 im already in grade 4 so i cant wait :) hope i can as good as you one day :)
ohh~pointe shoes are great...but i kinda twisted my ankle cause on my releves and pauseys...(I really dont care if i spell em wrong) cause i went over the tip of the pointe shoe
it may just be me as i have only just started myself, but it looks like you shoes have been broken in a little too far down?? apart from that i think you are a very good dancer x
I think your shank looks dead. also, the box might me dead. just feel the back, center of the box and if it's soft, then your pointe shoe is dead.
Also, at around 56 you looked like you were sinkin gin your right shoe, it looked like you were about to snap your ankle. Pont those feet hard at 1:19-1:33!
Heyy! :) You wern't too bad, but never just jump up onto pointe!!!!! You could hurt yourself! Roll up onto pointe, don't just plie and jump! And in your coupe (idk how to spell...) you should have your ankle of your back foot right next to the ankle of your standing leg, not wayyy out behind it. other than that, good job!
what kind of shoes are you wearing? it looks like u have really worn them out, i would suggest grishkos next time. also when u are rolling up to second, i would try to scoot ur feet in a little more as you go up, ur second is a little wide and it can be hard to dance like that, (i would know, lol.) hope that helps. (:
try gaynor mindens. they are a bit more expensive but they last a lot longer (they don't break mid-sole, the ones you're wearing look like they're broken right there on the arch). gaynors are really flexible and help you roll through the toe! they're also quite comfy! (as far as pointe shoes go ;) nice turnout girl!
Ur gd! But how old are u? They are nearly dead! You should get grichos! I'm 11 and I've been en pointe 4 a yr and I had grichos as my 2nd pair and they were really gd with my feet!
hehe when ppl wear black tights it reminds me off when i first got my pointe shoes and i was wearing black tights when i got home i tryed to go on pointe then fell over and missed the first pointe lesson i was so sad :(
I see that you got new pointe shoes, but just a pointer for next time - you can tell that the shoes are close to dead when you're knuckling over the vamp and your foot's rolling foward en pointe (see your left foot at 0:53)
There is no specific age to go en pointe, it just depends how strong your feet are and how long you have been dancing for, it is usually between ages 10-15. Do not get pointe shoes unless your teacher has said you can because this can lead to injuries.
I was 12 when I got my pointe shoes and now I'm 15, you really should have 2 years of ballet or more before you start pointe though and get permission from you dance teacher first.
Hi, I think you do great pointe work! Even though your teacher says the shoes are almost dead, you danced in them very good. I hope your mum got you a new pair!
It's pretty dangerous to do pointe work in dead shoes, definately think about getting a harder shank, and tell your mum it's dangerous for you to do pointe in dead shoes because they don't provide the proper support! If she wont buy you some new ones, save up your pocket money :) Your technique is nice, you obviously have strong feet and ankles, wouldn't want to ruin them with bad pointe shoes!! Another thing, try not to practice on carpet, it's not stable enough. Good luck!
they arent faulty. you've probably just got really strong feet. i had the same problem. maybe, i would try a hard shank. they're hard to break in, but they last forever
Hey thanks for the comment. I haven't got new shoes. My mum wont let me because she says they are faulty if they haven't lasted me long. I don't know what to do now!
i can't wait 2 go on pointe i'm going on next year
thumbs up if you are you are 2

Your shoes are too soft. You can see that you're 'sinking' into your shoes. It's a good idea to get a new pair.

you have incredible arches but your toes need work. try a theraband for that. it will help strengthen your feet as well as fix your toes.

Ok im no pro but u shouldn't really do pointe on carpet u might hurt ur self (:
MissMandiiee 1 year ago
very good heres some tips...
1. back coupe, you want to open your knee up more
2. 5th make sure the heal of your foot is right by the toes on other foot (if that make sense))
3. put of some sutinu (no idea how to spell) turns that would be nice

personally i would say you need a shoe with a higher vamp and harder shank . Looks like you're doing very well !
Doing some theraband exercises will help with your feel flexibility and strength (:
