  • to the people commenting about his voice,do you really believe any of you know more about the art of singing than this great Master?

  • 3:52 ...beautiful...

  • Haha he knows he nailed it.

  • He has very strong and touching voice ! İ don't understand about TOO MUCH MASK, but definitely he could be one the best tenor singer as I can see here.

  • The main problem of Giacomini is his timbre. There is TOOOO much "mask" in his singing. This style is very reliable, if your vocal cords and lungs are powerful enough, as all you need is to push the air up through the small chink left. However, the beauty is being lost inevitably. The same style was used by Melchiore who left "bigger chink" in his mask and that's why his timbre was far more pleasant. So, unhypnotize yourself and listen carefully. TOO MUCH MASK in all registers...

  • @TerryNio55 ... Anyway, TY, baritono1975. These records (from this particular concert) are very good. It was unoubtedly Giacomini's day, when he was in a nice form. I had never heard Giacomini singing so good, while I listened almost all his records at Youtube (including the young ones). He is a big master of a very hard style.

  • @TerryNio55

Too much mask? I don't understand alot of your imagery there. If you mean Melchior had slightly looser phonation than i might agree. Mybe this is whayou're saying. by too much mask do you mean his higher harmonics are too powerful? possibly but the depth of his tone requires it for a balanced voice.

I believe Melchior if he was around today would be classed as a verdi baritone. he really cannot get very high. Giacomini however had high C's and even C#s on a good day.

  • @TerryNio55 what do you mean? Could you expand? Never heard too much mask. I mean the majority of tenors put much of their sound in the mask without having any bottom. I.E. Eric Cutler. Absolutely a limited use of chest. But I hear both in GIacomini. I dont think anyone would ever say too much mask, if anything maybe too dark but I dont think that either. So coukd you clarify your comment. "TOO MUCH MASK" btw its rude to type in all caps

  • THE BEST REAL DRAMATIC TENOR!!!!

  • He had Bad days but Giacomini - on a good day - blows ANY other tenor out of the water! Maybe even Caruso

at over 70 years old now i would still rather listen to him than almost any other tenor around today!

  • A part quelques incertitudes(1:34),(3:36...)les aigus sont d'une très belle densité,surtout ceux de la fin (4:41),(5:18)!

  • giving-you-VOICE!

  • Glorious singing!

  • bravissimo maestro

  • Formidabile Giacomini !!

  • Geez...if you're a tenor, you don't ever want to sing again after hearing that. Amazing!

  • So beautiful! So musical! So passionate!

  • Grazie. E assolutamente straordinario. Quest'immenso cantante a tutto !

  • A glorious performance and a stunning example of portamento singing. What a beautiful, easy line he draws, and how lucky we are to have recorded performances by him!

  • una leggenda!

  • E meraviglioso ! This is an absolutely wonderful rendition.Giacomini is a true dramatic tenor. He has a powerful voice and excellent technique and musicianship.I wish he would have gotten more recognition here in the USA.And he was in his mid 50's when he gave this performance in Modena. Wow! Bravissimo Giacomini !

  • Che fortuna per chi ha assistito il concerto.......!!!

    Il piu grande tenore vivente!

  • LA PERFEZIONE ASSOLUTA.

  • Gigante....

  • Difficile imaginare come si puo' cantare meglio quest'aria.
