  • WOW !!! still sounds great after all these years, I have this record and 40+ others. Woody was my HERO when I was in my 20s, and this is one of my favourite tracks, also one of my dads favs, we saw this band live at the NEW VICTORIA THEATRE, London in 1964, its my favourite line up.

  • Trumpet player is my cousin Bill Hunt and though that gorgeous head of hair is gone, he can still play that horn!

  • Trumpet solo by Billy Hunt--under appreciated player who just couldn't seem to crack into that elite level. Still alive and still playing last time I heard.

  • @johnamzi since when is soloing with the woody herman big band not elite?

  • wow

  • Brignola, Jackie Smith, Carmen Leggio, Sal Nistico saxes

  • Great band, great reed section, beautiful arrangement. Big band Woody Style at its best

  • The trumpeter playing the out front solo is Billy Hunt. Bill Chase is the tall guy in the middle of the trumpet section playing lead.

  • doesn't look like bill chase to me!? What was the date of this video?

  • @6468792 about 1964

  • is that really bill chase

  • The late, great Jake Hanna. One of the finest big band drummers ever.

  • Drum feels, swing,... everything! thanks man, keep bringing these gens up!!!!

  • Woody's solo reminds me of Johnny Hodges.

  • Baritone saxophonist is the late Nick Brignola. Tenor saxophonist on far right is the late Sal Nistico.

  • @katella12 I dont know who is the Baritone but that is not Nick Brignola...You are right that is Sal Nistico....

  • @JazzPoetic65 It is definitely Nick Brignola on bari. No question at all abou it.
