  • Lol of course all the TKD kids get sensitive and call this a rip off.

  • @DCOME94 And then you talk smack lol. Lame anyways there is a kick like the one above in tkd and there's another others similar to other MT kicks. I say similar cause it's not exactly like those. Not all dojangs teach it as a standard repetition kick. Hell the kicks are in poomse.

To be honest I don't like explaining this to other people because it's such a frequent bitch to do. I do TKD/MT/BOXING etc. People ignorantly rag on TKD. The same people think I'm doing MT when I'm doing TKD.

  • What's wrong with his "boom"? I think it's ok.

  • love his "Pum", "Pum" :D:D

  • is it a Muay Thai kick??? I made this kick myself in 1999 when i was fighting in a Taekwondo tournament. Pretend to do a front kick and then twist my standing leg and rotate my hips to gain more power then make it a round kick. Hah, wat a coincidence XD

  • @Draconic theres a similiar kick in taekwondo as well lol

  • @Draconic this particular kick can be done various ways, you don't actually have to like fake the push kick, you can just bring up your knee aswell

  • boom you see !hhm kay ?

  • If you look at a bunch of sumbmission 101 vids, this one has the most views. Crazy eh?

  • Is it me or does he sound a bit jamaican (especially toward the end of the video)

  • "boom"

  • I came to hear him say bob

  • "when you get one you said this, reineck, for work a little bit, than the medley, anthony showed a dollar and their are right side."

  • Niggers won't fuck with me when I bust this out.

  • You guys are the best. I've learned so much from the vids and I really appreciate the fact that you guys are generous enough to provide us with Jiu-Jitsu knowledge and now striking. I'll forever be a fan. Thanks to all the guys at submissions 101.

  • boom

  • uh.. of hanky

  • Look like a parry. Boom, Like a parry. Like a Parry.

  • 'Bob... Bob... Then Bottle' Hahahah! Best part ever.

  • that kick is like a knock off of the taekwondo round kick

  • can we have more of tis?!?!?!

  • @exodia94 All the videos are online at the link above for direct download.!!

  • I used this kick whilst sparring in my advanced Krav Maga class and I nailed it (also confusing.the shit out of people) every time. It's an awesome kick!

  • which stretches are good to increase kicking height

  • 0:16 Bless you

  • Look at the legs on this guy!

  • I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ARE DISLIKES ON THIS VID DO U MORONS KNOW WHO HE IS? HATERS

  • he would destroy me with one kick

  • How much weight/momentum are you putting forward, and when? The way i developed these are more like a jab in a sence, but im wondering if it would be better to slow it down with more power by leaning in more...

  • Bop, Boom, Dead

  • saying "boom" when you land your kick is imperative, guys!

  • Are his sound effects.. REALLY necessary?

  • @TheBroseidon123 BOOM, yes,

  • BOP

  • BOOM bob !

  • FYI this isn't a typical muay thai headkick. It's what's called a brazilian or question mark kick. Doesn't really pack a punch but is really accurate and surprising =)

  • @dralol its more of a snap type kick. not as much power as a full roundhouse, but its accurate, comes from nowhere and great to use to surprise your opponent. a guy i used to spar with did these alot...very sneaky.

  • Great way to confuse your opponent

  • BOOM, I LIKE

  • i've struggled with kicks for years and that was a great piece of info right there, i always tried to take my leg out to the side but ratter like he said bring it straight up the body the switch kick.

    really great info!

  • so sad that these athletes dont get the recognition they deserve

  • @Brovrt thankfully, slowly but surely, things are changing.

  • looks similar to the brazilian kick

  • this is good stuff, muay thai is the baddest m.a

  • boom

  • man i wish i kicked my shins against trees when i was 7

  • BAHP

  • boom

  • @ArenaTM ...bahp...

    ...bahp...

  • @kingstaffy you are true. It is not the traditional muay Thai kick, but it is the traditional taekwondo kick as in tkd people go into a chamber position ie bringing your knee up to kicking height in a sort of toe kick or as shown here position. Then the rotation of the hip takes place. It's done for the same purpose though, to confuse your opponent.

  • @MynameisAbhaySoni yeah people hate on tkd but the is used in karate as well, often called the question mark kick, both because its confusing and shaped like a question mark

  • BOOM LIKE A PARRY, Got to live him :D

  • I love instructors who speak little english, it makes me feel foriegn.

  • Uhhh submissions..?

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!! >:O

  • captions are such a fail lol

  • lol @ cc

  • looks cool, but you are suppose to perry the teep with the other hand and keep the hand he uses to perry at the head blocking, shouldn't work with someone who has muay thai experience

  • If I had the money I would get this. He explains it so simple. Way to much for me now.

On another note used the cc button google needs to work on that. The thing had me laughing at what they thought he was saying.

  • @8cspohn The whole thing is pretty good. Well worth it. I've had other videos where it's evident the dude is there just trying to look cool.

  • That "high-kick" is a brazilian kick (known as that but its real name is mawashigeri in karate.)

  • @OVERCAPITALIZE brazilians have awesome muay thai fighters and warriors. But it is not called a brazilian kick, it is a muay thai head kick. brazilians love muay thai and i dont think they would disrespect thailand's martial art by calling it a brazilian kick. Even shogun has muay thai tattooed on his shin in thai letters.

  • @kingstaffy In karate... and in Japan scene, the karate kick mawashi geri is called the brazilian kick because the brazilians were good at it.

  • @OVERCAPITALIZE but its not a traditional head kick bcos he is faking the push kick first. im pretty sure saenchai does this kick quite a bit

  • Awesome and technical! Definitely on par with what I have come to expect from Submissions 101!

  • 1) Press the CC button next to the video quality button.

    2) Click transcribe audio

    3) Die.

  • @Salvador1124 "but then balloon. it should be found here" :DD genius

  • @Salvador1124 ROFL

  • @Salvador1124 Lmfao. Done printing this time! Musical!

  • @Salvador1124 "Vida stempel nobody perry redeem a fleet of military", seems legit!

  • @Salvador1124 funniest thing ive seen in awhile

  • @Salvador1124 lol that was classic

  • AKA. the brazilian kick

  • @MursuTheMan of course, because everything is brazilian...

  • @MursuTheMan Brazil was discovered in the 1500's. Thailand was formed in the 1200's and they already had this kick. I would go with calling it a Thai kick. Any other name is simply stolen property. Just because a Thai guy is rolling around putting armbars on people doesn't mean that it is Thai Jiujitsu.

  • perry?

  • boom!

  • Great tutorial but my problem is i can't even lift my leg that high

  • @f4m1lyguyftw stretch, and right diet helps too.

  • Why can't I watch Matt and Red's highlight vids on my iPad? There are like 2 but I can't only see one.

  • the first kick is almost identical to i taekwondo turning kick

  • got trainin in 4 hours...gonna try it out...thanks...

  • I love how he says "jab" LOL ... great video

  • Wow i like it

  • can we have tutorials on improving flexibility?

  • good lord these guys legs are like tree trunks! I'd hate to get kicked by them, ouch.

thanks for the video btw. I have some old videos of Glaube Feitosa pulling off the first kick many time with devistating results, (I though it was called a Brazilian high kick? could be wrong) "switch-kick sounds better imo. Nothing against Brazil.

    again cool video Subs101

  • "poom, he tinks like its push kick", nice technique though :)

  • Great video, very helpful, thank you for uploading

  • i fell on my ass and popped my ankle outta place trying this kick /watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

  • love it! more of these videos please!

  • finally!!!!!!!

  • Malaipet is a sick fighter

  • Bob, then bob, then bob, make sure right hand perry left yap then boong turn, boong turn

  • two words glaube feitosa k1

  • The left counter is kinda scary though. If someone does block they can easily counter with an overhand right and you will be off balance, which will knock you down.

  • I would love to see these dudes in a bar fight!

  • The Brazilian kick?

  • wow....now muay thai....

  • I've always called this the question mark kick, because it kind of looks like a "?" how you throw it.

  • Excellent, thanks for your open mindedness Ari.

  • i suggest that you guys should make another channel for striking and making a video on this channel to promote it :)

  • whoa did u guys actually get to meet malaipet?

  • @tylerhan2000 @Mr007batman

No. The regular roundhouse kick in karate and TKD's turning kick the knee travels inline with the hip all the way from the start. Ofc, you kick with the toe sole or instep in those arts too.

In MT high kick, the knee comes up *exactly* as if you are doing a front kick, i.e. closed hips almost all the way, only near the top of the knee's arc do you twist hips & continue the shin into and DOWN on the opponent. Ofc you strike with the shin, preferably lower shin too.

  • boom

  • That is also how high kicks are used and set up in Tao Kwon Do.

  • Isn't think a roundhouse but with the shin?

  • @tylerhan2000 no. a roundhouse is aimed at the side of the body (ribs). High kick is aimed at their head. Both kicks use their instep and their shin.

  • Best explanation of MT high kick I've seen. It is very different from regular high kicks in karate and tkd, though it is present as a variation in both, of course.

Cool video, though very unexpected on this channel. I supposed it was due to the high quality of the content. :)

  • Sick High Kick!

  • I tried this on my friend to show him, my head hurts haha. New goal: stretch!

  • puuum.........puumm lol

  • hell yeah!.... giddyup!

  • i know this is a submission channel but boy oh boy have i been waiting for striking :D

  • @theoriginalmquan We want to help everyone out and we team up with world champs to bring you some crazy stuff!!!
