  • Maybe I just don't see it but how is this supposed to help? I mean, there isn't any narration, no combo list, no text explaining how to do it just a guy doing all the moves in really quickly. How is someone supposed to learn from this?

  • @LordPenguin7485 It is assumed that if you play Makoto, you can look at these moves and know what they are without him having to spoonfeed you every link.

  • @Raarzorz if its assumed that a person that watches this video knows Makoto why would they even be looking for a basic guide? if this is bare bones basic and I know how to play the character then I wouldn't need this at all NO ONE looking up a basic guide knows the character, hence the wording "basic" meaning: Forming an essential foundation or starting point; fundamental. . so in essence still proving (if that was the idea mind you.) that this videos pointless.

  • @LordPenguin7485 There is a different between a Button guide and a basic guide. Surely if you have just picked up Makoto, the first thing you are going to do is start pressing buttons to see what does which move. This guide is a tiny step forward from that.

  • I think you can also do kara-karakusa like this: 632~6LK~4HK

    But I don't know why it works, maybe when doing the 4HK it really inputs 14HK, so, it completes the HCB.

    I can do it both ways, but inconsistenly :-(

  • No matter how fast i try i can't do the Kara-Karakusa is like you need super human speed to do it and is funny to me cuz at least I could do it on 3rd Strike with a D-pad it was once every 100 tries but still it was possible for me

  • @sonic9 while the HP is in animation press and hold a kick button then do the hayate.. this auto cancels it..hope that helps

  • @Rotarrius Kara throw will still work the same no matter what controller you're using, and it's purpose is to extend the lenght of the ability you use it with..: Such as Throws, makoto's Kara-karakusa throw can be quite hard to pull of since it's a forward l.K plinked to HCB kick... And that can be pretty hard to pull off... But otherwise her Kara throw is quite easy and should be used at all times since it extends her range. And that one is l.K-throw or m.K-throw.   • Has anyone have problems doing karakusa on the right side because when I do it, it doesn't respond. Makoto keeps jumping when I did the right motion. On the left side, the karakusa move responds. I don't understand why is like that. Does anyone know the answer to it?

  • @Ermac211 Try going into training mode and turn on the input data. You should be able to analyze why the move is not working. If you are jumping before or after the motion then you're entering an up input.

  • @bagukiri I did the same input as I did it with the left side and it didn't work. I went to the left side to do the same input like was trying to do on the right side and it worked.

  • This guide forgot to mention Focus cancel shenanigans. You can just about focus cancel and dash into Karakusa to an unexpecting opponent. Oh and dashing into Karakusa. Nice job regardless.

  • Makoto is just aa highly technical character, obvious scrubs can't use her.

  • BASIC GUIDE TO MAKOTO:

    1) She's godawful;

    2) She has the worst gameplay in the game, save for Hakan. Even poor lil' El Fuerte has better options;

    3) Pick somebody else.

  • @MasaruKato82 I've never lost to a sagat or Ryu YET in online play. I've seen HORRIBLE makoto's HOWEVER, I've lost to 3 of them. Yet faced countless top tier picking fag f*cks...much like urself. LOL. You're the type to pick cable/sentinal in MVC2 huh? Who grows up watching the xmen saying "I wanna be sentinel!!" hahaha. Too many p*ssies in the world.

  • @DinnRaven You can't pull it off on most characters. That's why, I think, the video creator is using Balrog as a sparring partner. Some of these combos are character specific. I've tried it a lot against slender/little characters but it always whiffs. It works like a charm against Balrog though.

  • Her kara throw's timing is extremely fast. I haven't been able to pull it off outside of training. Probably unlikely any casual players will be able to do this move with a high success rate.

  • @HwarangOfFaith the numbers are in coordination with your numeric keyboard. For example diagonal down+left would be 1, down would be 2 and diagonal down+right would be 3, etc.

  • @AZ16180339887 --Hey, this is a bit embarassing but I just wanted to ask for a little help. im having trouble with makotos most common combo. the karakusa>hp~hp hayate. Whenever i do the karakusa I can amost never land the hp~hayate in time or sometimes i input it too quick. Could you help me with any tips?, I wait until makoto has put the opponent back on the ground but I always struggle with the hp~hp hayate input. Whats your trick.

  • @dublos86 heres a a lil trick to make that combo easy. if you didn't know, RELEASING a button counts as input for doing a special move. so for an easy hp-hp hayate, press hp, then quarter circle forward and release the hp right away. works every time
