man i dont know why most chinese films are barely in hollywood cinemas at all. no wonder many americans does not understand asian people like europe and australia. donnie yen's expressions are better than jackie chan and jet li that's what many hong kong people said which i believe so as well. anyway, after watching this film, Ip Man is such a nice husband to his wife no matter how much his wife is complaining. it was romantic in this film when donnie was running to see his wife. @victomizer1984 I wouldn't say that. We don't really know who the best martial artists that ever lived was. Besides the movies mostly fictional just like fearless was with Huo Yuanjia.

Also it's possible that Bruce Lee became a better fighter than his own master. I'd say that Ip Man was probably very proud of Bruce Lee's progress and though Bruce Lee many of today's top fighters were inspired by him. But remember without ip man then there's no Bruce Lee.

Bruce Lee once mention that none of Ip Mans' students can even touch him but Ip Man doesnt wanna go around and express himself like bruce does. however, bruce is also an extremely good fighter.

As a HK guy, I'm really glad that a HK movie is so internationally popular and anticipated. Personally I'm not particularly into Yip Man 1, but, maybe because it missed out on the "HK Oscar" Best Movie award, this sequel has improved a lot in story and characters. Yip Man becomes more human, and the friendship between him and another master, Hung Chun Nam (played by Sammo Hung) is very moving. This is the best kind of our blockbuster movie, enjoy it!

I have the utmost respect for Sammo Hung because of all that he has done for the martials art movie genre in the last 40 years or so! This guy has been in business since he was a kid, has done movies in the hundreds (including many of the best starring Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao) and possibly been involved in twice that number (as director, choreographer and stuntsman) , and is still in the business in his late 50s. Very few have a profile and resume to match!

Hung Ga begins as being external (i.e. hard), the students will learn how to build up strength in their body parts but as skills develop they will soon learn how to apply the movements internally (i.e. soft).
