  • mother of mao asada dies before japanese skater returns home from grand prix final in canada.

    her mother was ill....long time.

our thought are with mao and her family.

  • Well ppl both yuna and asada have their own strength yuna's is her speed, her goe earning huge jumps and edge with musical movements. While asadas is her flexibility, her lines, and her light smooth movements. Stop arguing!!!

  • @musicalmelody818 Becouse she is a BITCH , i mean she looks cheap...or do you prefer to tell her slut, or whore?????????

  • Woo.. thanks for uploading this vid but..

you went to the LIVE stadium but all you took at vid is TV screen?... wanna cry. (T-T)

  • Hope she get a gold next olympic she deserve also the gold..i've watch her and yuna kim since their Jr time..i love the way they compete head to head..if she can only get a new coach much better for her......Good luck

  • I agree, I've looked at past protocols of Yuna's performances and if she had skated clean in all of them as she did at the Olympics, her score would consistently be around 140. Mao's score was reasonable, although she should have gotten higher GOE's for her triple axels.

  • None of commentators ever said that Mao deserved the gold or didn't deserve the silver. Be serious people. I don't believe that any of you after Mao's FS thought: "she surely will beat Yuna" or after Joannie FS: "she surely will beat Mao". Gold and silver medals were obvious.

But I agree some scores were very strange. I don't get how Yuna could get 5,40 points for spirals in SP- just like Mao did. And higher scores for spins.

  • @resfriada1 There's this Japanese documentary from NHK called Mao Asada and Yu-na Kim which was made after Olympics. They explain everything there. I watched it with Korean subtitles. But I wish there was English subtitles for it. It's very interesting. You should check it out.

  • Anyone who thinks Mao deserved gold medal seriously need to get their eyes checked. While I got nothing against Mao Asada, she was nowhere near receiving gold medal for the Olympics, not to mention all the mess ups she made in the long program. If you honestly cannot see this, then you are clearly blinded by your Mao fanatism. Artistry requires all elements on figure skating, not solely on triple axel.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ You weren't listening to what I said. Everyone knows Yuna was the deserving champion. However, as someone who skated and followed skating, I can tell you Yuna's marks were far too high. She should not have scored 150, 140 is more reasonable.

  • @StewNWT A perfect, flawless performance deserves perfect, flawless scores. In the previous system... it would've been 6s across the board.

  • @vihzelx for sure she would have gotten a ton of 6.0s, however the new system has a finite value for each element that is assigned, and a score of 150 is so far beyond anything even remotely reasonable for a women's program. Look at the 2007 worlds and all the amazing performances there and they were barely cracking 130. The whole Olympics the scores were somewhat inflated, but Yuna's was definitely the most bloated of all. A clean win with a score of 140. Mao/Joannie 125-130 max

  • @StewNWT At the Olympics, judges take into consideration that the Olympics is the most important competition of the athletes' lives. They reward high GOE's "Grade of Execution" (Extra points for doing something well) because of the immense amount of pressure. My example would be Joanie Rochette. She got the highest GOE's for her short program because her mother passed away 5 days before.

  • @leadpencil96 I'm sorry but that's ridiculous - skaters are awarded for what is completed on the ice. Full stop. In past Olympics athletes have actually be marked quite severely because the judges are poring over every little detail in a program. Joannie's SP was flawless, and she got excellent GOEs. It's silly to suggest she was marked up in the short because of her mother.

Now in the long program, Mirai Nagasu probably should have gotten a higher mark that Joannie, or perhaps even Mao.

  • @StewNWT .....

  • Why are people sweating their panties over triple axels? figure skating is judged based on many elements. This ain't figureskatastics. Only advantage Mao had over Yu-na was triple axel. Mao's spiral sequence, flying spin, jump combinations, spin combination, layback spin, ina bauer, were all inferior to Yu-na's. You guys are whining how Yuna's scores were inflated. All of those points added up, which far exceeded Mao's scores. what's the point of having triple axel when u fuck up other elements?

  • i can´t belive it¡¡¡¡¡¡ she deserves gold what tha hell is wrong with isu are stupids or what??? this was mao year and she did a amazing job nobody can't do this on years

  • @lilymaoas You can't be serious, right? Gold? People are debating whether Mao should've even received Silver or not. People are debating that Mao should've gotten bronze or none at all. And you're spewing that Mao deserved gold? LMAO. not to mention the ugly mess ups she made in long program that downgraded her so much. beffore calling isu, you should get some check-up on yourself. =)

  • @EdDy4RheelZ i think she deserves gold and i think she deserves haiger score she is so amazing to watch she is a gif for Figure skating if you tink youna deserves gold or joannie silver is because you have no idea of what art or artistic means do you know somethink about art ? why not see some of the ballet and then talk i cant do this if you are in 0 as art relates

  • @lilymaoas Sure I do. I'm not a figure skater but I am a bboy(breakdancer). I know what it takes to be a dancer. Acrobatic moves doesn't define you as a dancer. As I said, only advantage Mao had over Yu-na was triple axel, nothing else. She had no artistry in her work. All of her other elements were inferior to Yuna's. And trust me, bitch, I know what I'm talking about. Even Japanese documentary of NHK's Mao Asada vs Yuna-Kim reveals this. Yuna = artistic. Mao = gymnast.

  • @lilymaoas Breakdance is not an art? LOL, in bboying, we dance to express ourselves and we got no rules to expressing it. in your shitty theater dance class, u got rules and limited moves to express yourself. creativity plays a huge role in freestylin. we take the creativity and the art of dancing to the whole new level, unlike other dances in the world. with my dance background, mao asada doing triple axel 100,000 times doesn't impress me. keep whining bcz in d end, results speak for themselves

  • @EdDy4RheelZ if mao asada¿s 3 axel dosen´t impress you then what do u impress with yuna´s 3 jumps?? so... what??? figure skating is an sport and an art too and the only girl who has ability, determination, flexibility etc. is mao asada not yuna kim. yuna is sexy so maybe you are in love with her but she is not better than mao asada in anything and your right breakdance is a way to express your self and is verry difficult but is not an art is like comparate mozart with 50 cent i mean come on

  • @lilymaoas I think ur still stuck in the past of 2005-2007 when Mao was better than Yu-na. I understand kiddo. But you gotta realize that times change. Yu-na has won every international competitions during 09-10. Reason why Triple axel does not impress me is because i've seen it thousands of times and she never performs it well with her pieces. In other words, she's got no artistry. Watch this Japanese documentary called Yu-na Kim vs Mao Asada by NHK and they'll perfectly explain why Yuna won

  • @EdDy4RheelZ i have a video of a ballet lady (bolshoi) explain why mao shuld win and why mao shuld win in the program componente score so...

  • @EdDy4RheelZ No the competition was judged correctly. Mao and Yuna were so far ahead of the rest of the field it was laughable. Yuna of course should have won, but her score of 150 was quite ludicrous, should have been no higher than 140. Most of the marks were quite inflated for all the skaters. I also think Mirai Nagasu probably should have slightly outscored Joannie in the LP but not enough to overtake her for the bronze. The judges took an extremely long time to give Mirai's marks, fixed?

  • @StewNWT I never berated the judges. Who am I to criticize or tell them anyways. It's no doubt Yu-na deserves gold. Scores inflated? doubt it. As I mentioned, check out the Japanese documentary Mao Asada and Yu-na Kim. It shows how Yu-na overcame her rival by mastering every part of elements in figure skating since she cannot outperform Mao in triple axel. Every single movements and scoring is explained in that documentary by NHK.

  • @StewNWT It becomes extremely laughable and a joke when someone says Mao deserves gold. I'm not a figure skating expert who can spot mistakes easily but when I saw Mao cork her leg and trip backwards, how does that qualify for gold medal? Most people on youtube are even debating whether Mao should've even gotten silver at all but yet, they compare Mao over Yu-na in gold medal? LOL that is what becomes laughable.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ I totally Agree!!

  • Haha, talk about an ugly spread eagle- Mao's is the ugliest, she might as well not be doing it, it hurts my eyes so, lol. 3a cheated with no flow, spins that start fast but slow way down, overrated footwork, and worst of all, absolutely no connection or feel with the music. Mao's skating is good- for deaf people. And blind, and or stupid. In no way did this girl deserve over 70 for the sp, she was so gifted. And over 200 for the total was a joke. Joannie should have won silver.

  • Mao, a self-proclaimed hard-technical skater and a world-top-ranking skater, is not even able to do a Triple-Triple combination, or Triple Lutz, or even a Triple Salcow (second easiest triple jump). She even made a mistake on her triple toe-loop, the easiest trilpe. An individual solitary triple Axel, not even well-done enough, without a firm support from good execution of other jump elements, is all she's got.

  • Not only that, but I wish judges would stop awarding Yu-Na for doing things like spread eagles before her jumps. While I agree that it does make the combination harder, her positions are TERRIBLE. She might as well not be doing it. Award elements by how WELL they are done, not because the skater is just DOING it! Isn't that what is what the COP is about? Why does that all of a sudden change when Yu-Na is on the ice?

Whatever, Mao was amazing at these Olympics no matter what the scores say.

  • I definitely prefer Mao over Yu-Na as a skater, however because of her unfortunate mistakes at the end of her free skate, I don't think it is logical to say she should have won.

I don't agree though that she should have lost with such a margin behind Kim. While everyone's scores were inflated by like 5 points, Kim's scores were ridiculously inflated by I'd say almost 15. I really wish that the judging system would boost up the points awarded to a 3A, it should not be less than a 3Lz+3T(cont)

  • @pinto89100 They actually are boosting the 3A points this season. :)

  • The truth be told, Yuna Kim and Mao Asada are equally good skaters I don't believe one is better than the other. However we must admit that a Japanese female skater won the 2006 Torino Gold medal in womens figure skating and that could be the reason why Mao did not win and Yuna Kim. If you do not think that the Olympic games are political, well you better think again.

  • mao asada should have won. kim yuna moved to canada when she learned the olympics were there just so she could win. unfair judgement.

  • @0607timgo

Many skaters show us their natural ability at Gala program since they are just enjoying skating. Please watch her some gala.

If you will claim same thing after watching them, I cannot say anything to you.

Because it is different how we understand artistry and grace, it may be difficult to compromise.

  • @0607timgo I wouldn't say so. How is Asada the most overrated? She's done more than Kim has done Before Torino and Vancouver. And I believe Mao trying triple axel shows she has guts to even do it, especially in the Olympics. Mao changed the way she skated since her first world title. But she still has that prescence we all see. Kim is good in all, but she doesn't have everything at all. She has the jumps and the sexyness of her skating, but she needs to work on spirals and spins.

  • @0607timgo I've also seen other skaters with better spirals and spins. Try not to judge skaters because they are overrated, try appreciating and learning that they went far to even come to the Olympics and/or even try triple axels or quads. Kim and Asada are in their own league. They are both different.

  • Thank you!!!!

  • People need to just shut the fuck up....how about all you haters go on an ice like this and do what all the girls did at the Olympics...jesus christ people, Mao and Yu Na are in two different leagues and strengths....both are great skaters so get over it!

  • @star915 well that was my personal oppinion, if you don't seem to like it it's your problem but that is just how I one of many felt at that moment, and I found the diffrence between the scores at the olympics ridicoulesly huge, which didn't make any sense. and I actually like yuna kim but her program at the olympics and worlds was soo overscored..

  • you are awesome!

  • oh my god you filmed this live!!

i remember sitting at home watching this live on tv and wishing more than anything that i could be there

this is as close as i can get!! thanks for uploading you're so lucky!!

  • @Sabrina7722772

My seats were so far away I left and went down to the bottom of the stairs and zoomed right in. Was a fantastic night though.

  • just tasteless

    just dull

  • @876snow

    日本語おかしい

  • korean stalkers are

many many staying in this forum!

    they are pervert!

    GOD! PLEASE SAVE MAO

  • @maoasadasidmao1932 you're absolutely right!! i'm one of them!!

  • @iimissdramaticii mao's was also incredible and flawless if you ask me. plus a triple axel. and yuna was overscored this time.

  • @Sumeow did you watch her freeskate?!?! she singled TWO jumps and had a crooked landing on one of the jumps.

  • @iimissdramaticii

she singled one jump only, and thats the 3T, as far as i remember.

  • @Sumeow You meant Mao was overscored, right?

  • @KellyBasu haha... no...

  • @iimissdramaticii

yuna missed her 3S in 09wc, and the final combination spin got her no points (invalid element) cos she forgot to put in the flying entrance, thats some 8-9points in total she lost.

Mao missed her 3T and got her 3F downgraded so thats also around 9points. so the final score actually make sense.

  • @youtubo1073 the question here is do you, yourself have a future?

  • @bibitg I will take that as a promise,. what ever that causes you to tell me that.

  • whats the name for the first song she skates?!! i skate the same song but i can't find the name!!!

  • @bibitg it's Masquerade by Aram Khachaturian

  • Kim and Mao should have only been separated by a point at the most. Why? In my opinion Mao has better spirals and footwork. I'll leave them even on the spins. And since Mao was clean in the short, I think she got underscored. Kim skated brilliantly but she was a little conservative on the artistry that she's know for but I guess the judges missed that. My point is that I don't think Kim should have entered the long with that humongous lead the JUDGES gave her. But she did win the long IMO.

  • what is the title of the music when she did main program?

Who chooses the music for her? to me, it is so heavy, heavy

  • @honolulutradewind I think so too, the music is veryvery high level thinking she is just 19

  • rather do triple axel double axel combination....

  • I don't know much about ijs but what about 3a, 2a, 3+3

  • you're SO lucky to have been there!

  • If I were her coach, on short program I'll put 3A, 3f+3T or 3f+3Lo, 3F she can do this, for the long program 3A, 3A+2T, 3f+2t+2lo, 3F+3lo or 3f+3T, 3T, 3Lo, 2A. Increased transition and program components.

  • @skadadz You can't have 3A as your axel jump because 2A is the required element

  • Waltz Masquerade by A. Katchaturian is the piece of music

  • pleas name song

  • Comment removed

  • I dont understand sometimes why judges score the way they do

  • @macmakeup4ever : I think the judges know who they want to win. For example Scott Hamilton said that Mao did Triple A Double T and Kim triple flip triple toe. Evan Lysaceck beat Plushenko and Plushenko had not half but a whole revolution more that Evan. Case in point Kim and Mao in the Short, Kim only had a half a revolution more and yet she entered the long with a 5 point lead. While plushenko had like a 1 point lead.

  • @macmakeup4ever I totally agree but judges are judges.....

  • Sorry Coolio, I meant to delete one of my comments and accidentally deleted yours! But thank you! Olympics live are def more amazing than tv!

  • were you there? at the olympics?

  • yes, I did attend some of the events at the Olympics

  • @macmakeup4ever: lucky, thats cool :D
