Bought this guitar like two weeks ago. First the strings were a bit loosen, and with fret buzz. Then I asked to fix it in the shop. They "repared" it. But now the strings are to tight, and can't have any sustain. As you play the string the sound just vanishes. Also it is difficult to play. I am considering adjusting the trust rod myself, but I am afraid.
@joaoteodosio Sounds like they might have over adjusted the truss rod if it's hard to play. This would also position the strings further from your pickups meaning less volume. If you adjust the truss rod yourself the shop will wash their hands of any problems. It may have been damaged in store or from factory too. My suggestion would be get them to do the job properly or replace the guitar if it can't be setup properly
@thedoctr44 As I don't have the courage to go to the store again, I decided not to do anything to the guitar. But it is really a great guitar still. Thanks for your answer.
@oziezob well the sound was recorded off the microphone on the camera so it should sound better :D In a Tele I'd also suggest a G&L ASAT Tribute series for around the same money. But as always go and play one first, and amps do make a difference so take your own to the music store.
@dropeify do you mean what's the SONG at 4:00? Crossroads by Cream (originally by Robert Johnson). If you mean what sound was I using on the DA5, I can't tell you anymore as this amp was destroyed (by act of dog) I suspect it would have been clean 2 or blues 1 / 2
CV pickups are made in the same factory as tone-riders, the same workers, and the same materials , mine sounds amazing and it seems like a waist to buy the same pickups for a higher price, just cause everyone and their mothers say that squires only sound half decent w/ new pickups
@gtnick314 Just because they're made in the same place by the same people and yes even out of the same stuff, does not make it the same pickup. There is discussion on the tdpri forum about these, and they do not test electrically the same as the stock. I made the change because I wanted some more grunt out of the sound but still sound like a Tele. Toneriders were cheap so I gave them a go, and got the sound I wanted. If you're happy with the sound, then be happy.
@gnrmanmatt I find the neck very easy to play, and i played a few tele's in this range and higher before getting this one. The only one I've found I liked better was a satin finish G&L ASAT, but I wasn't aware of those at the time. But it's all personal preference so I suggest hitting up a guitar store for a few hours :D
@u2joshua1 play the two and see which one you like more. If you're after more of a keeper I'd go with the mex tele, you could also try a G&L tribute series.
thanks I Just Bought a Beautifull Fender Baja Telecaster (desert sand) a really light in weight and beautifull finishing and the sound.....so beautifull!!
@RivasRonald Classic Vibe Thinlines run about $799 NZD. The thinline is no more expensive than any other CV Tele. If you mean a Squier "Standard" Tele - these are $499 NZD. Differences? Better woods used in the body and neck, and probably better pickups + pots. In the states, prices are much cheaper. If I was in the states I'd probably look at a Fender Mex Tele :)
I replaced the pots at the same time, but the stock pots were the same spec. On a budget you could probably not bother.
@RivasRonald If you thinking about adding Tone Rider tele pickups to this thin lkine - I have heard tone rider made the pickups that come stock in these CV teles. They just have not brand name on them.

Cool video, cool songs, nice playing, love the guitar.
A Steve cropper fan then? Going to see him this sunday. cant wait.
Do you reckon the fender 69 thinline tele is worth the 300 quid more than this axe?

About how much is the price of the Thin line vs the normal Squier, it sounds good.. upgrade the pick ups with Tonerider with stock pots?

@ivncdo0809 You'd have to spend a lot more to get better. I'm considering a set of their humbucker size P90's for another guitar.
