Great question. Yes, provided you starve the leech for at least 4 months and possibly even up to a year. It mainly depends on how much that critter had for dinner when he dined on you. Some leeches I put on myself are about one inch long and less than 1/4 inch across but they are so hungry they try to grab hold of anything. After a nice blood meal they roll off for a nap but now they may be 6 inches long and 1/2" wide...they won't be hungry for some time. I keep my leeches for use later.
