The Bugatti is less than superb at handling by the way. The GTR holds the world record for skidpad lateral grip, not the Veyron. The Veyron's handling is impressive for what it is, a house with wheels. Not so impressive for a performance car. Think about it. A Zonda F with almost half the power was able to beat it on the Top Gear track, a power circuit, after getting raped by the Veyron in a drag race. It sure wasn't making up that time in the straights.
The Bugatti Veyron will hit 100 MPH in 5.7 seconds, but cause of its 1.8 tonne weight or whatever it is, it takes a fair bit longer than the Ultima to stop again

The ultima can cost up to $75,000-ish usd, there is no production limit, has a true porsche 5/6 speed manual gearbox, and you get to build it yourself, the GTR 720 has a top gear lap time of 1:09.9! Faster than the veyron and the Ferrari FXX on the top gear track. Oh yeah quicker than a McLaren F1, this car is just amazing, im gonna build one

This Ultima gtr does not run the standard engine.Nowhere on ultima's website is a 720 hp engine mentioned.The vehicle in this video is not emission compliant and therefore not a road car.All other supercars comply with current emission and noise regulation.
I drove in the Hot Rod Power Tour 2 times and they were over 1000 miles each time. Both of them had a guy driving one of these in it. So, yes this is a street legal Supercar, think Ferrari Enzo only faster.
The 720 Hp motor comes from their engine supplier American Speed. They have a range of engines from 300 to 800 Hp specifically built for Ultima cars. You can order a finished GTR from the company with any of those engines. Whether that gives the GTR production status or not is still debatable.
lol, this car is road complaint, it is a kit car, making it eligible to have an smog exemption. when you buy the kit you can put what ever engine in it you want.

im not commenting on the preformance of the car, i am simply saying the methods of testing are incorrect, i know without a doubt that the car in the video had DOT approved drag radials, which were warmed up prior to launch. any car magazine or manufacturer that tests accel- deccel would not CHEAT in this way. therefore this "record' means absolutely nothing.
I call "BS" on the DOT drag radials. Especially with the myriad of other videos around the 'net showing these cars pulling similar feats with similarly powered engines on the tires that come with the kit.
The way they test the world records is 100x more accurate and verifiable than ANY magazine. Just go look around you stupid brick.
They use sensors on the ground and have a full system for ensuring constant factors except for the vehicles (including averaging cool down ect periods) go search for Atom 0-60 world record attempt.
According to Saleen's own website, the S7 twin turbo does 0-100-0 in 11.2. Almost 2 seconds behind the Ultima. 7 seconds is closer to what an F1 car pulls.
Nice seeing the McLaren F1 is still top 3 no matter what while being about 18 years old and from March 31, 1998 it took about a decade for any car to break it's record top speed of 240.1mph :D

I drove in the Hot Rod Power Tour 2 times and they were over 1000 miles each time. Both of them had a guy driving one of these in it. So, yes this is a street legal Supercar, think Ferrari Enzo only faster.

The 720 Hp motor comes from their engine supplier American Speed. They have a range of engines from 300 to 800 Hp specifically built for Ultima cars. You can order a finished GTR from the company with any of those engines. Whether that gives the GTR production status or not is still debatable.

Although i,m not trying to be critical of the car,I'ts sure as hell one of the quickest cars on the road,It cant be compared to a production car as it does not comply with the same regs as a production car.ALL vehicles regardless of who builds them must comply with smog regs in force at the time of manufacture.You cant legally run a kit car with a race engine on the road,although clearly you can get away with it.

furthermore i have reliable second hand info that the ultima in this video is a VERY modified version of the kit that is offered as standard (suspension geometry, wheels, chassis stiffening and whatnot.)
therefore i think that the claim to fastest production car 0-100-0 is shameful.

The car was driven to the track on public roads, did the runs, and returned again on the road. You could order one, similar spec, tomorrow if you wanted.
The output is one of the available versions, putting out 720bhp. Good for doing a bit of shopping

-This.
-Ascari A10 (granted, up to debate).
-Caparo T1.
Bugatti Veyron (though it's AWD).
There is more out there. And your last paragraph, I hate to say it, but you sound rediculous. These tests were all done on a standard GTR720, completely road fit and from the factory.

This was tested by offical timekeepers datron and driven to and from the track on the road.
Roda tyre Tread depth, flat surface all taken into account by Datron, timekkepers for guiness book of records. Caparo cannot match the Ultima times fact.

what about the Bugatti, or mclaren f1? I mean the Bugatti has that what could be called on monstrosity on the back for the simple purpose of stopping as quickly as possible (and it beats the ultima on 0-60, and it has a top speed 20 mph higher then the ultima), but all conversations aside, this is an amazing machine, my dad's 2003 supercharged mustang can barley do 0-100 in that time, and even more amazing that thing can actually go around corners

look at the wheels on the "world record production car" Ultima in the video, the same one that broke that record at the top- gear track however long ago(i dont think that record still stands)the offset looks different on the fronts, compared to a standard ultima, which has a deeper dish, these wheels have much less dish, which means a different lenth control arm setup to keep the tire in the right place, i dont know about the rear but i think that chassis mods to a kitcar with a big motor and---

im not commenting on the preformance of the car, i am simply saying the methods of testing are incorrect, i know without a doubt that the car in the video had DOT approved drag radials, which were warmed up prior to launch. any car magazine or manufacturer that tests accel- deccel would not CHEAT in this way. therefore this "record' means absolutely nothing.

The way they test the world records is 100x more accurate and verifiable than ANY magazine. Just go look around you stupid brick.
They use sensors on the ground and have a full system for ensuring constant factors except for the vehicles (including averaging cool down ect periods) go search for Atom 0-60 world record attempt.

According to Saleen's own website, the S7 twin turbo does 0-100-0 in 11.2. Almost 2 seconds behind the Ultima. 7 seconds is closer to what an F1 car pulls.

That is the only thing it WAS the best at then it got beaten by the Aero. So they had to step it up again with a redesign and charge even more to get it back. Luxury, because it has leather and a auto? One of the complaints is the comfort. Just a tip topgear is great but try getting info from better places it may enlighten you.

oh come on give this car credit it blows the veyron out of the watter. I believe it hits 200 mph about 3 seconds before the veyron, but i might be wrong. Im also just using my best judgement on this guess.... But i assume that this ultima can am beats the veyron around most types of tracks.... excluding code de azur..... That track is all around top speed =).

The porsche is street legal, in that it has seat belts, a vin number, turn signals, f/r bumpers, windshield wipers, headlights, and stop/tail lights, and if there only has to be one of that particular car for the record to count, there are quite a few that can beat the Ultima,As you can see by my previous comments I would like to see the record stand for the fastest 0-100-0 "production" car which would be the 1967 Shelby 427sohc cobra roadster @11 seconds.
