  • This song...better than sex, better than anything.

  • talk about being blown away....

  • no matter what amazing event you are going to see w/ dave and tim...@ least one person is going to always yell something bizarre while they ear-gasm. oh rye whiskey

  • I believe I've heard the DaveSpeak that precedes this song. Something about when people are shouting at him that he wants to just keep talking and not play. Something like "You paid for a ticket for Dave and Tim, that just means we are gonna be here, it doesn't mean we're gonna play anything" lol :) I think that's what was going on there in the beginning where he gets ready to play and then people stop shouting and he stops and says "See? New power."

  • what is the guy yelling...somone tell me!!!!.....

  • love love love...beautiful deep

  • at the beginning what is the guy yelling?

  • I still like the Radio City Dave & Tim LIOG most, Tim's playing in that version is so unique that it just fits for me. Good post, thanks for that!

  • What does dacve say after taking a drink? haha

  • Love this song God bless you dave and tim

  • wow, you guys are stupid, half the fun of going to a concert like that is singing along to the songs, so why dont you guys shut the hell up, get off your computer, and actually go see a real concert, watching videos on you tube does not entitle you to any opinions whatsoever.

  • @Musicdude171 There's absolutely nothing wrong with SINGING along with the songs, but when so many people seem to be at a show to get HEARD rather than to LISTEN to Dave's stories or Dave's and Tim's guitarplaying, there's definitely something wrong with the whole picture. I have been to a handful of D&T shows and at each show, a bunch of so-called fans spent the entire night shouting, calling out song requests in the middle of a Davespeak or talk extremely loud during slow songs.

  • ive been lookin for the chords tims playing during verse forever any1 kno???

  • this is not radio city, it was a couple years later and the coolest Dave and Tim version of Lie in Our Graves you will find

  • waht outro is he playing??

  • Blue Water

  • is this radio city?

  • Nope. Done 6 years before that show.

  • Bulldog22031, Calm down.

  • Preach it mah friend. I wouldn't go to a concert with that guy if he payed me.

  • Right? that dude is WAY uptight.

  • Would greatly appreciate a copy of this show.

  • Comment removed

  • What a douche. Seriously, man, you sound like more of a douche than a homoerotic fratboy.

  • So am I a tool because I am offering my services by remastering a great show? Or am I a tool because I HATE when drunk fratboys scream during a quiet, intimate song like "Stay or Leave"? Or perhaps I am a douche because i am frustrated that when trying to remaster a show that I can get everything to sound really good, but I cannot get loud screams out that really kill the mood of the song?... you tell me.

  • I'm on your side dude. I hate when people yell during the soft intimate moments.

  • I know!!!

    STOP ENJOYING YOURSELVES ASSHOLES!!!

  • what tim reynolds does with that guitar is unmatched..this song is incredible..by far my favorite from dave

  • holy hell. just.....unbelievable.

  • this chord progression is sick to solo over, its flexible and circular. the energy can keep building and building and with someone as good as Reynolds soloing...game over. awesome track!

  • this song is badass. listen to dave and bela fleck on this song.

  • At about 3:00 Dave starts to look like Stevie Wonder. He is feeling it hard-core. Amazing stuff!

  • when are people going to stop trying to drown out dave's voice by singing along so loud? seriously takes away from the show. you go to see dave, not to listen to thousands of people sing along to his songs

  • buzzkill

  • @225dg504 Me personally, i love it when the crowd sings along! You can still hear Dave but i love singing along and feeling the music :-)

  • They are awesome. I was at a concert last summer and Tim Renynolds played with his teeth!

  • holy balls

  • Tim's guitar is bigger than he is LOL

  • i have 13 versions of lie in our graves and this blows every single one of them out of the water

  • Yes!!!

  • Turn of the Century #1

  • love the solo by tim reynolds....kickin ass and takin names hahahha

  • best duo ever

  • what was that guy yelling, lol it was funny

  • Best D&T LIOG ever - I can't believe why people feel the need to shout so much at every D&T show, it really can ruin the experience. Stop that stupid screaming, nobody cares about you, and what songs you love

  • @Lorentzen I prefer the one in Radio City

  • @keravnos28 - With Tim's annoying "one-note" solo? I know they intended to "play music with just one note" as they say in the extra material on the DVD, but it still is an annoying solo nonetheless :)

  • @Lorentzen This solo, like most of Tim's solos, is extremely annoying. He's a good player, I'm not saying he's not. But the solos he does are not that hard compared to a lot of the other stuff he does. Other than these eardrum splitting pieces, I love listening to these guys. Really soulful.

  • @Lorentzen its a very blessing sound for the solo..

i believe there are two greater. 2.5.99 being one

  • It was on the campus of Miami (Ohio). I was at the show, and it was great. The only bad thing was the idiot Miami frat boys screaming throughout the whole show. Those guys tried to ruin it, but it was still an amazing show.

  • I'd have smacked em - someone shoulda smacked em! I hate people like that, the vibe at a dave and tim concert would be amazing, to ruin that is a travesty.

  • Awesome. where was that?

  • this is insane tim renoylds is out of this world on guitar

  • what are those dudes in the audience sayin?

  • I love how when Dave just picks up a glass people go wild.

  • blue water is one of my absolute favorites

  • all I have to say, Just simply Beautiful I could pass out to this song so easily especially if im fucked up

  • It was definitely 3-31-03,I was there & have an audio disc of the entire show & this is the exact same version of "LIOG".....This really brings back some memories:)

  • Crash is most definitely the best album DMB put out.

  • Sorry, forgot to verify that this is at Miami University, 3-28-2003.

  • I was at this show and remember the guy yelling (he really let the guy have it later) and the big drink of the cup at the beginning of the song. It's the only one of Dave's shows that I got to see Proudest Monkey. Great show.

  • sweet..very nice..love it

if you want to see guitar mastery check out Paco de Lucia...the best ever

  • If you like this version, check out D&T @ Amsterdam 3.10.07 (best crowd and D&T set in a while); and DMB with Trey Anastasio 8.14.07

  • .....I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well..!!

  • Think I found it... Look up:

    Monday Mar 31 2003

John D. Millett Hall - Miami University, Oxford - (only show with LIOG > Blue Water)

Sad that i know this info, I'm a DMB/D&T I.V. drip addict. You'll see my in "Intervention" soon enough. HA.

  • After 10yrs of listening to DMB and D&T, I know a bit of this. To help, it's definitely from 2003. The stage set up, Tim's solo, and the next song of Blue Water tease says it's from 2003, not 2007. Try 2003 D&T tour. And it's not from 3-28-03, b/c i went to that show. That should narrow down the field. And judging by the great version, it's probably a latter show than 3-28. Good luck...

  • 7:04 - even Dave is amazed!

  • night hawk im sorry i just looked its radio city music hall

  • its not the one from this year...so unless they played there in 03, then its gotta be somehwere else.

  • this was from live at luther college i belive its that or radio city music hall either one is excellent. i currently have all his cd's and some tr3 stuff but not positive on which 1 its on

pretty sure its live at luther college tho

  • nahman live at luther was from 96. this is from 03. they didnt even play LIOG at luther college.

  • From 04.30 and to the end ..... heavenly.

  • i love that middle section on the album version!!!! possibly my favourite!

  • Best D&T interlude ever.

  • tim knows exactly what will sound the best hes awesome

  • tim reynolds is sick

  • I think that may be the best possible solo you can play for this song absolutely perfect

  • dave is the best

  • it is the beginning of JTR

  • Actually it's the beginning of "Blue Water Baboon Farm" (Blue Water for Short)

  • What they are playin on ending??? Sombady knows?

  • why the hell isnt that thing tuned before they come on stage

  • after playing for a while the strings can slip out of tune. In real concerts, musicians tune on stage.

  • lmao its not that bad

  • WOW

  • Lie In Our Graves from the 3/31/03 show

  • this isnt the radio city recording, is it?

  • The Best Song Ever!!!!!

A lot of fun to play on the guitar!!

  • WOW. The things they can do are amazing. But then again, it is Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds.

  • TIm is just barely over 5ft tall. He's very short.

  • big hands... huge hands..u ever watch them?... haha.. i'll spare u the joke

  • That was madness

  • tim is straight up ridiculous

  • 3 foot 9!! are you retarded, midgets usually reach 4 foot and he doesnt look much like a midget to me!! who cares how tall he is, this is the most awesome performance ever thing ever. Although the 2 step and crash into me performances on hampden coliseum come close

  • little people :)

    midgets :(

  • who cares, tim is awesome

  • He's a little over five feet tall. Check his website

    timreynolds(.)com

  • I have a four year old. I would say Tim is taller than 3'9.

  • I never knew Tim was that short!

  • Tim is definitely somewhere around 4 feet tall. I saw him play a solo show once and he walked right by me and he is fucking tiny

    this version is amazing

  • Tim's 3'9". I think.

  • You mean 4'9? 3'9 is way to short dude.

  • Maybe 3'7". hehe

  • how tall is tim reynolds???

  • Intro/Jam/Fill E:-0--------------0-- B:-0--------------1-- G:-0--------------0-- D:-2------2/4\2---2-- A:-2----2---------3-- E:-0--------------3-- Verse E:-0-----------0-- B:-0-----------1-- G:-0-----------0-- D:-2-----------2-- A:-2-----------3-- E:-0-----------3--
  • BLUE WATER is the song they are playing at the end

  • DOES anybody know what is the song that he is playing at the very end? At around the ten minute mark? Please help!!

  • my friend went to the concert a couple days ago with dave and tim and he said u werent allowed to scream in between songs or sing with him, but they still do it anyway

  • Dave Matthews has traditionally been very conversational with the crowd, although the last 8 or 9 years have made that virtually impossible due to large venues. I guess that is the price he has to pay. The Grateful Dead had a similar experience.

  • Actually, Dave enoys people yelling in between songs. Oldschool Dave fans use to scream which songs they want to hear cause Dave never really bothered with setlists so he let people in the crowd tell him what to play. This kind of changed as the band got bigger, but a lot of old fans still enjoy the occasional "Play Jimi Thang" or "Do #41"

  • I think clapping is good. That's what they aim for. I met Dave and he says if he can get the audience to participate and really get into the music then he's accomplished his goal. With songs like his, that is a very easy thing to do.

  • that is NOT what they aim for. In fact, there have been a number of occasions where D&T had to literally stop a song because people were screaming and shouting and completely disrupted their performance. And that is a fact. If you look at some of the setlists and reviews of shows on the online archives you will even read reviews from fans where they go in detail about such an incident. Audience participation has its limits.

  • no need to argue, this isn't a political debate. It's just great music.

  • the best moment is when u close ur eyes, relax and enjoy the song

  • focus!!

  • ?? focus?? u mean ignore the clapping and pretend its not there? Kind of like just pretend we don't have an asshole in the oval office running things; and then we can rest assure everything is gonna be alright. LOL.

  • wtf are you talking about, blocking out background noise at a concert is very different from your president who is destroying the world

  • No the two are not wholly dissmilar in that they both continue to occur despite efforts to resist, are both highly frustrating, both take away from the integrity of the bigger picture, both are the result from the same type of persons (selfish, self-centered, ill-advised, cold-hearted, mean natured)....so nope they're definitely NOT very different.

  • dude: chill out. You need to get hiiiiiiiigh

  • yeah you're right, drugs are always the answer. Not the root of the problem, but a way to rectify it. What a great assessment! You're a f*cking psychologist dude! "You need to get high".....I really can't believe some of you KIDS now-a-days. I don't have a problem w/ people that use, but when I see the shit it does to their cognition....its just sad.

  • christ mate, why are you so uptight? You're the most angry dave matthews fan I've ever encountered

  • yeah angry when people fu*king ruin the show with their outrighteously obnoxious behavior. It's a disgrace and they should be ashamed. But for some reason, these people think it's cool to behave like dumb beasts. One girl got on her cell phone when I was at UMASS during The Maker and starting talking to her boyfriend or whatever, and did it MAD loud! You think that's appropriate? Yeah, I admit it, it pisses me off. There's no reason for sh!t like that.

  • no argument there, drunken screaming behavior/cell phones are not cool.. i guess we have differing views of what constitutes obnoxious/disruptive behavior

  • not really, I think we see more eye to eye than ya think. we both agree that inappropriate nonsense is disruptive (cell phones, loud drunken screaming, etc). I am just very resentful that these people call themselves Dave Matthews fans or even music fans. I give my undivided attention and these pieces of sh!t are just there cuz it's the cool thing to do.

  • fair'nuff! Dave rocks, let's call it a day.

  • wwow ppl clapping is so annoying

  • Blue Water is such a beautiful yet melancholy song.

  • yeah,how dare people like clapping to songs,damn them >.>;

  • I totally agree, they should prohibit clapping at D&T shows. Along with crowd singing. SHUT UP!

  • I saw Tim and Marcus Eaton in Park City Ut about a year ago, tim is such a good guy got to talk to him and Marcus for about 10 min before the show, Timmy is in a whole different world w/ his music. Love it

  • yeah man, clapping during the song kills the whole acoustic atmosphere d&t create. save it for the end

  • i don't like when people clap. it ruins the vibe of the performance

  • at 24-26 sec.. dude yell's 'what are you drinking!?'

then dave pounds it and rocks face. amazing.

  • The guy is a god, and Tim is his disciple.

  • if you ever get a chance to see a tim reynolds show do it!!!! I was "blown away".

  • i know that, i mean the audience guy, haha not dave but thanks

  • I got to see them a few years ago in indiana. its was so amazing. they were like an hour late there was a bunch of people just waitin around the college and they pull up and come out of the bus. it was likea crazy dream. Dave is like the nicest guy ever. he stood aroud chatin with every one shakin hand. amazing.

  • great video ... what does that guy say at about 24-26sec.?

  • hey says, see new power.. see that right there

  • i believe he say's 'what are you drinking!?'

then dave pounds it and rocks face. amazing.

  • So good.

  • one of their best jam sessions

  • saw them in vegas for vegoose and the mgm grand. amazing show

  • Saw them last night at Santa Barbara bowl! WHAT A DAMN SHOW!!!!

  • wooo seeing them tommorrow!

  • I need to see a dave and tim show. I've seen dave and I've seen tim, but not together. Pure Magic.

  • just awesome

  • haha i thought his guitar was big but yeah i guess he's just small

  • tim is freaking tiny!

  • I heart Dave and Tim.

  • the song at the end is called Blue Water Baboon Farm

  • sounds like "typical situation " for my ears

  • whats the song they start to go into at the end?

  • I need to see a Dave/Tim show before i die

  • awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The instrumental part in the middle was just beautiful. Thanks for this.
