  • Fantastic that the ten-character video ID contains "OutRoCk".

  • Glad others noticed the Human Centipede at 0:32

  • Comment removed

  • Love how the numbers appear to the song's rhythm, slo mo at times.

  • Siiiiiiiiix!

  • Time to watch some Yellow Submarine!

  • Marvelously creative series, these "Jazzy Spies"; sort of a "stream of consciousness" series of images, associated w/ each number. Thanks for uploading!

  • the music sounds a bit like the Mahavishnu Orchestra

  • They Spanish versions of these cartoon segments I remember.

  • @67nairb You're right, my friend. They were only done for 7 and 10. God bless!

  • Off to watch Yellow Submarine!

  • Ha! I don't think Grace knew WHAT she was talking about. ......great to see this cartoon again. The chaotic jazz mixed with this animation is strange and wonderful....but mostly strange!!

  • 66......6!

  • and for me it was hiding behind the couch when the storm came and the Maoris came to chase you to eat you alive....

  • I was hiding behind the couch sweetina666....but i love you like Crowded House....I grew up in New Zealand....take the weather with you....

checking out the song again, thank you:)

  • Now I know where my wierd musical ideas came from :)

  • and they wondered why i had nightmares when i was young:(

  • Yeah- that animation is disturbing. Even for an adult. And the music feels somewhat ominous. Top it off with havent heard it in 35 years. Anyone else get spooked by this?

  • 00:32 is a King with 5 subjects....that makes 6!

    I found out on muppetwiki!

  • Wonderful way that the train advanced at the beginning with the drums! Grace has good timing!

  • This is what Grace Slick meant by "feed your head."

  • What the HELL is that at 0:32?!!!! LOL!

  • Looks like something inspired by "Yellow Submarine," a typical sort of psychedelic fantasy creature of the era.

  • A conga line?

  • LMAOOOOOOOO!!!! XD

  • that is 6 guys revealed as being under the costuume of the fire breathing dragon.. who promptly get sucked up into a steam-powered-cold-war-era dust buster...

  • @twistedbabydoll Well she was in San Fran in the early 70s!

  • @twistedbabydoll The human centipede, of course

  • @twistedbabydoll It's one of those Chinese dragon costumes that a lot of people wear at once.

  • @twistedbabydoll Human centipede.; duh.

  • I am *floored* to learn that Grace Slick was the singing voice in these counting clips. During my teenage years and twenties (I'm 33 now), Jefferson Airplane was my favorite band (in the 90's, you can imagine what a lonely teenager I was...), and I can't believe that amongst all of the trivia that I knew about the AIrplane, I didn't know she sang on this very familiar music from my childhood. I guess when I grew up I recognized Grace's voice without realizing it... somewhere in my subconscious.

  • I agree with you: I was blown away to learn this as well. So cool!!!!!

  • these jazzy spies are great. i remember loving them as a kid. i would have been 4 when SS started - so i guess i am part of the first generation of kids to be exposed to these shorts. i hope they still show them. only now in 2008 i discovered grace slick was vocalist - totally cool!!

  • How the hell is it that I remember this. Every flash of colour. The chord at the end. That crazy woman getting all excited about a number.

I could be 5 years old right now. God that's weird.

  • I saw these on Sesame Street at the end of the 1970's when I was about 4. It sure made learning to count fun.

  • Thanks so much for posting these. Just love 'em!!!!

  • I remember also seein "SIETE" which I saw reran during summer '88, at the time it was 10 yrs that I had seen previously reran summer '78 in original English

  • does anybody know who composed and played the music this series of animations?

  • grace slick is the voice

  • It was Denny Zeitlin, who later did the music for the original film INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS.

  • many thanks for replying, this has been bugging me for more years than i care to remember. it's about time someone at a very large corporation gathered up all those tunes from sesame street and put them on cd or vinyl.

  • You're welcome. I wish they would do such a release....if they can both find good quality audio (and video if they're going for DVD too) after all these years, and get all the licensing issues (of which I expect there are many) sorted.

  • (00:24) Oh look it's a dragon! Wait, it's just six people in disguise ROFL :P

  • Who proceed to get vacuumed up by a number 6. The folks at PBS ripped off Yellow Submarine.

  • Those clips with the rocket countdown seemed to be similar to "Yellow Submarine" as well

  • @wiley207

It may be the Beast...get it? It has the #6 in it!

  • I don't suppose you have the ones done in Spanish? The only one I ever distincly remember seeing in Spanish was for the number 10.

    Thanks tons!

  • Did they do a Spanish version of the "Jazzy Spies"? Was this in the original Sesame Street?

    ~Ra'akone

  • The only one I remember in Spanish is "DIEZ"... so whether they did all of them I don't know... maybe not.

  • Wow, I remember this one! Thank you so much for this one.
