I so agree with ClasicOkatuLolita do not force your baby to nurse. He/she will when they are ready. Especially in cases of newborns, they may want to move around and get comfy or even play with the breasts. do not under any circumstances force your baby to nurse. BAD ADVICE! let the child move around, play, it's making them comfortable. You and the baby will thank you!

Just from watching my mom nurse my younger brothers, I know this is all wrong.... you let the baby do their own thing, if they move around, let them play around a while, let them go, etc. Don't shove your breast into their mouth, let the baby latch on!

I actually gave my 3rd child formula every 4 hours, until all my milk came in when she was 5 days old, then I took her off of scheduled feedings, waited for her early crys from food, I put my breast into her mouth for the 1st time and, she fed straight away, then after she dramk the milk she wanted from the breast, I topped her up with what formula she wanted from the bottle, until she was full.

She is not abusing her child obviously you have never breast fed. In the beginning it is very hard and babies tend to move a lot especially her baby who seems to be very active. My daughter took a whole month to get the hang of it, plus they can breathe fine through the nose

it is very important to check if the baby can properly BREATHE, that might be the reason why they are fussing obviously! If they cannot breathe right hold a finger on each side next to the nipple, that way the baby can easily breathe. Holding the head still? Ok, only if the baby wants to eat and if they can breathe!

you should not jam it into their mouths. if they are not hungry you should not force food into their mouths. and don't try to just open their mouths! if they are hungry, they should be able to try to grasp on without you trying to MAKE them.

WTF is this? 1. She's not properly supporting baby's head w/ her crooked arm. 2. Yes baby's can fidget while nursing, but if he's pulling off... OBVIOUSLY HE DOESN'T WANT IT 3. REAL TIPS she didnt mention : Tickling his cheek with the nipple. Letting him find it and then teasing the upper lip to prompt him to suck. Letting him smell the milk. Then waiting for the gape and allowing them to suction on. NOT JAM IT IN. 4. Babies dont kick thrust and SCREAM when properly fed.

oh my as a soon to be mother to my second child i planned on breastfeeding this time. my first son wouldnt take to the breast so in the end went to formula. this video has put me off even trying to breast feed the second child. the baby does not look comfortable and babys sometimes do move around whilst feeding but that baby is squirming and trying desperatly to getaway. such a bad video and expertvilliage should be ashamed of using this mother in a video of theres.

As a Lactation Consultant, I can tell you, the only thing she said that holds ANY merit is how to unlatch the baby. and that breastfeeding is a learned art. The rest of the advice is absolutely incorrect, and should NOT be followed.
