The only way we can lower the cost of Electrical Energy and help mitigate Global Warming is to tap Iloilo's Indigenous Energy Sources which is renewable and sustainable in nature ... like: Wind, Solar, Tidal, Wave, Geothermal, Hyro/Run-of-River, Biomass, Ocean Current, etc. This will definitely secure our future energy needs and also help reduce our dependence on foreign Cruce Oil, Coal and Natural Gas. These Alternative Energy Sources is the answer to the Energy requirements of all ilonggos !!
PECO is charging customers P7.30 per kilowatt-hour because "Electrical Energy" is being generated using a "Diesel Fired Power Plant" (Brgy. Ingore, La Paz - 72 MW). We know that Diesel or Bunker Fuel is very expensive. NPC or NaPoCor is charging just P2.83 per kilowatt-hour because it is subsidised by the Nat'l. Gov't. and some of the Electrical Energy is source from Leyte Geothermal Electric Power Plants (transmitted through DC submarine/under-sea cable).
