urdu was develped by mughals Their mother tongue was the Chaghatai language (had Turkic and Persian culture). bridge the commncation gap with local ppl they developed 'urdu' language 'lashkri zuban' contains words from different languages from perisan, arabic, punjabi, english n ofcourse sunskrit. Urdu is written in the Nastaliq style of the Persian alphabet and relies heavily on Persian and Arabic.
Regardless of what is the national language of Pakistan , the country has never produced anything but terror groups. They can never produce anything creative as sweey music or even something that benefits their own people.
@slenderboy2 You KNOW, THA FACT THAT INDIA PRODUCES MOVIES DOES'T MEAN THAT IT'S MORE DEVELOPPED THAN PAKISTAN OR OTHER COUNTRIES, I'M NOT INDIAN, NOT PAKISTANI, I VISITED THE TWO COUNTRIES AND LET ME TELL YOU THAT BOTH COUNTRIES ARE SUFFERING FROM POVERTY AND INJUSTICE, THE TRUTH IS THAT INDIAN GOVERNEMENT ENCOURAGE CINEMA INDUSTRY TO SHOW TO THE WORLD A WRONG IMAGE OF INDIA, WICH DOENS'T REPRESENT REALITY , PAKISTAN IS BLESSED CUZ LOOK WHAT BOLLYWOOD PRODUCES NOWADAYS, CHEAP PORN MOVIES
urdu was invented my mughal military in hyderabad..by mixing persian and sanskrit...people who say urdu is pakistani..dont forget we gave u that land 50 yrs ago..
What is Urdu? Grammar from Sanskrit, Vocabulary from Persian or Farsi and script from Persian. It is a purely synthesized hybrid. The original language is Khari Boli (which is the standard dialect of Hindi). Due to political and religious nature of this issue, people are not willing to treat Urdu as just a pseudo language.
Why do we always have to argue over religions (Islam and Hinduism) and languages (Hindi or Urdu). Why don't we just enjoy that something we have in common - music. Let us grow up please.
Why do we always have to argue over religions (Islam and Hinduism) and languages (Hindi or Urdu). Why don't we just enjoy that something we have in common - music, please.
urdu means army camp in turkish, urdu was born due to the influence of persian , arabic , turkish and braj hindi from north india , sanskrit died thousans of years back , brought by aryan invaders from central asia and europe.
@ahmadtafeem I agree about Urdu but "Aryan invaders from central Asia and Europe" theory was part of Nazi/British propaganda to belittle Indian subcontinent people.
India's fertile land prior to last ice age gave rise to great civilizations. After the ice age, many changes to the land as well as culture has resulted in superstitious ways of life but much of art/music, mythology and philosophy of the land has survived.
The disturbing thing is how twisted this seems because it seems so forcibly Western. I am Western to tell the truth but I appreciate Lata and thing this video seems to have a drag queen feel and the guy looks Italian- maybe because of the forced Westernization.
relax people and enjoy the music. who cares about linguistics right now? history is a blur when the archeology is withered in sand and so people guess at where the roots of language come from.
well its urdu and hindi mixed up and people who are sayin that urdu is pure paki language then they dont know that pak is part of india. who said urdu is branch of perisan lang well its derived from sanskrit
i think people in pak should pay more attention to their literature
@apurvapathak001 oh you stupid indian, pakistan is not part of india. India has been our part. And urdu is pure oakistani language, it is a part of persian, and if you want to proud by saying it a part of sansikrat , then no problem. You may carry on.............

@kashifrehman95 If you don't know Linguistics, don't speak, you idiot. Urdu comes under the Indo-Aryan branch of Indo-Iranian languages, which refers to all languages derived from Sanskrit. Urdu is linguistically a variant of Hindi. You Pakis define the night as day and day as night, but we'll not believe in it.
@kashifrehman95= There was no so called Pakistan before 1947. Urdu existed long before that. Persian is ancient and Islam destroyed it and claimed that all its culture was Islamic. That is Islamic tradition. Kill your enemy and wear his clothes; and say that his wife is yours. Do you have any idea that Afghanistan was entirely Hindu and Budhist 2500 years ago? You can not, because Islam did not exist at that point of time. Wake up and have a good wash.
you are absolutely correct, not even pakistan was in foetus, but all paki from the present pakistan was in fact harijan in India or their fore father, but their root is from India... they convert into islam for some material gain and some respect from society. hightly influenced by the persian cloth merchant coming to India.
This is a fact of history and nobody can deny that. So urdu is just a derivate of hindi, sankreet etc

Well, Urdu vocabulary is influenced by Persian, Arabic, Hindi and Sanskrit mainly. And it was mainly developed in Uttar Pradesh (an Indian state) and not in Pakistan
@apurvapathak001 I think I am speaking this language from last 26 years and as a Urdu lover I know a little about its History as well. Take a note that Urdu is not derived from any Language but its just a mixture of few Languages. The name URDU is Turkish word means LASHKAR. The writing script is similar to Persian or Arabic and it has words from Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Sanskrit.
Sanskrit is totally different language, The language u r using in Movies is not Sanskrit, Its something else. :)

who is the actress sitting with Dharmendra? she is cute too. Babita I think is the singing, her expressions are really nuanced and beautiful, but then when Lata sings even an ugly duckling can look beautiful!
I have read from a some reliable source that Urdu language was developed in northern part of India in 15th century as a crossover between Hindi (in those days hindustani) and Persian for administrative purposes; allegedly by Delhi Sultanate in those days.
but urdu and hindi are very alike arent they?. They both branch out of sanskirt right? they sound so alike there is NO difference between urdu and hindi.
te lumt pernime e kishe shum zanin e mir se kam pas rast me e pa filmin ton mother india je shum aktore e mir dhe legjend e gjall te pershendes dhe te deshiroi jet te gjat
HI Yes but it is almost 80% urdu language, and I challenge that all indian songs are in urdu, a few words are used from pure hindi but the poetry of india pak region not fits other than urdu language, the languages are art of human communiqué & it is not a cause of hate if it belongs from your neighboring nation; definitely Pak was part of India, and we imagine one day the both countries will be good partners again forever, with no borders like European nations. We will be glad to see that day,
The language is Hindi-Urdu (aka Hindustani) which is a mix of Hindi and Urdu. Pure Urdu (like pure Hindi) is not easily spoken and understood. Urdu was born in the Mughal courts of Delhi by the amalgamation of East (Sanskrit/Hindi) and West (Persian/Arabic).
Urdu is a language like any other and the user is responsible to make it sweet or otherwise. We in India have seen Urdu used by cruel Mohomedan rulers for ages. Also Lata is best at singing the infinitely sweet and pure verses of Sant Dnyaneshwar, a poet saint of Maharashtra.
THE LATA MANGESHKAR is da cultural ambassador of India and is beyond the bounds of any language!
u have made an extremely irresponsible comment without realizing that Lataji is a deity in our country India.
and by the way, Lataji never really needed urdu to become the legend that she is. She was already a great singer right since her childhood. And it is her divine voice and dedication that has made her what she is today.
Haha I agree...for your information, Minoo Mumtaz is the sister of comedian Mehmood and also a Bollywood supporting actress...Madhumati, Jeevankala and Nalini Chonkar are all based in Marathi cinema, but they also played a few significant parts in Hindi films...one last question, could the lady in blue be Helen?
Dumb bud bud retards.
They should go back to their shit infested slums and eat eachothers shit like they always do.

Sahir wrote this after the Indian government decided to mark the 100th anniversary of Ghalib's death in 1968.
Jin shehron mein goonji thhi, Ghalib ki navaa barson
Un shehron mein aaj Urdu, benaam-o-nashaan thehri
Aazaadi-e-kaamil ka elaan huaa jis din,
Maatoob zabaan thehri, ghaddar zabaan thehri
Jis ahd-e-siyaasat ne ye zinda zubaan kuchli
Us ahd-e-siyaasat ko marhoomon ka gham kyon hai
Ghalib jise kehte hain, Urdu hi ka shaayar thha
Urdu pe sitam dhha kar, Ghalib pe karam kyon hai

Urdu was born in the Mughal courts of Delhi by the amalgamation of East (Sanskrit/Hindi) and West (Persian/Arabic).

what remains in lata ji without Urdu,,?
poissondelamer 3 years ago
Urdu is a language like any other and the user is responsible to make it sweet or otherwise. We in India have seen Urdu used by cruel Mohomedan rulers for ages. Also Lata is best at singing the infinitely sweet and pure verses of Sant Dnyaneshwar, a poet saint of Maharashtra.

who are you "poissondelamer"????
THE LATA MANGESHKAR is da cultural ambassador of India and is beyond the bounds of any language!
u have made an extremely irresponsible comment without realizing that Lataji is a deity in our country India.
and by the way, Lataji never really needed urdu to become the legend that she is. She was already a great singer right since her childhood. And it is her divine voice and dedication that has made her what she is today.
so give up your illusions and shut up!

The lip-syncing one is Mala Sinha, and the one in blue is Shashikala...the hero is Dharmendra...I am trying to figure out what movie is this...
mughaleazamfan 3 years ago
The other one is NOT Shashikala though she does look a bit like her.

Is she Minoo Mumtaz? Madhumati? Jeevankala? Nalini Chowkar?
mughaleazamfan 2 years ago
Hope you don't mind, but I am too busy worshipping Mala Sinha to notice the other woman, heh heh!
Well, actually, I am sorry, I don't know, all four of your names are also unfamiliar to me.
KiranGopalAshtekar 2 years ago
Haha I agree...for your information, Minoo Mumtaz is the sister of comedian Mehmood and also a Bollywood supporting actress...Madhumati, Jeevankala and Nalini Chonkar are all based in Marathi cinema, but they also played a few significant parts in Hindi films...one last question, could the lady in blue be Helen?
