Well, if u were actually played the game itself, u see the numbers would go down. Example: You're @ the end of the game, your life # says "0042" or something. It's like Spawn tryin' 2 find eternal rest or gain his humanity back or break his deal with Malebolgia (forgot which), and he just basically screwed Spawn over. (Bastard.) Now Spawn has to serve him all over again.

The ending pretty much meant, Spawn's energy level was very low at the end of this aka close to death, and Malebolgia restored Spawn's power level all the way pretty much extending Spawn's life span even more where as all Spawn wants is to die and be set free essentially. That's what I get out of it, if that makes any sense at all.

Well this is what happened:

The Violator(clown) could only feed on evil souls. However, using the 13 childrens' souls, New Breed(this guy) could feed off of the innocent. That means everyone could be fed upon.

When he gave Spawn the souls, it not only increased his power, but made him replace The Violator. So now Spawn is responsible for collecting souls to send to hell.

I say what I saw, but this is just my opinion; this could no be true.

First of all, Spawn was Malebolgia's creation, but the latter doesn't like to be; he doesn't like Malebolgia's plan of raising the darkness either. So Spawn stop it. Due to this, and seeing in th end that the 9.9.9.9. was complete, Malebolgia reconstructed Spawn's power

He wasn't getting stripped, on the contrary, he gave him more life as a punishment. Or something.

I guess here every interpretation counts.

You are about as right as it gets. Spawn WANTS to die, remember? Odd for most heroes or villains, but after seeing that his loved ones pretty much moved on, he had no interest in staying. Malebolgia plans on making sure Spawn holds up his end of the contract, though.

It is hard to notice if you never end up using any of that energy to see that it was reset.
