  • It's a shame this even needs to be said. Moral of the story; not only is being a Social Media Douchebag a PITA to others, but it's also a waste of your own time.

  • LOL BABE X

  • Is it illegal in the united states to buy and sell jobs. I know the president was involved in this back as a senator. Also the last five people that was under Obama as a senetar was all fired for illegal activity. Does anyone know if it is illegal to buy and sell jobs in America. Only thing I do know is its illegal to do it for goverment offices.

  • The act of giving out free product like books, music and videos stops illegal pirating cold in its tracks. People should accept that this is a new standerd and the controll of information is not meant for one person. The bible says you shouldnt take wisdom to the grave. I often quote the bible wrong so dont hate me if I did.

  • Upper managment is teaching some very sinister acts to perform on employees as in setting people up for failure routines. This is the act of given someone to many jobs and no time to do them in then turning around and saying its there fault. This is very social pathic behavor and is not what the bible teaches in Help you fellow man.

  • Also this setting people up in Companies is commen practice in todays work force. The average american will have some 10 diffrent jobs by the age of 20s and will have close to 25 by the age of 30. Note this is with not companies going through hard times but companies with people in charge playing king of the hill letting people go before they ever are given an honest chance to learn there job. Scary thing I learned recently this is being taught through upper managment.

  • iTS A WASTE of time but people will continue to do it due to it gets them jobs in higher positions and they can control the buying and selling of jobs with in a company. There was a radio show on NPR that talked about people with in companies that fired people in regular basis and the study showed that these people didnt care if the company made one dollar all the cared about is if they stayed in controll of the company. THATS WHATS GOING ON IN AMERICA TODAY.

  • The turtle in the glasses has a good point.

  • eZdia team is a group of diverse individuals who have known each other for a long time and share the passion of creating a visionary knowledge platform.

  • "Networking that matters is, helping people achieve their goals."

That is the best phrase I have ever heard on networking. It is the basis of online and offline networking.

    GREAT VIDEO. Big Thanks!

  • Love the glasses! I need to get some. I am not sure if I agree with the last 15 seconds of your commentary.

  • This is very true. What can be hard is getting clients and upper management to buy into it.

  • talks about social networking and he's on 15k views on youtube....laughable really.

  • that's an incredibly myopic opinion. he's not marketing this video. his social media site squidoo is incredibly popular. and the principals he describes are right on. they're are few people more qualified to talk about social networking.

  • LOL! :)

  • What's with the 'hissing' sound and lubra lips right into the camera????

  • He looks like that dancing guy from the Six Flags commercials.

  • never thought of it that way

I have a cat boarding business, so its hard to apply the same ad rules, I usually only see people once

  • you're so right (as always) Seth

I'm sick of 'reading' everything (i.e.) : twiiter facebook myspace and blogs here there and everywhere

    ...ffs.

I sooner have one or two 'mentors' and i think you know the answer to that one Seth.

  • Despite many webinars and training on how to use social sites to make or break your business, I'm still getting direct sales pitch from new "friends" right off the bat!

  • Seth,

I like your philosophy. To Avoid the fluff.

Definitions of "friend" & "networking" is certainly being challenged. Your comments are consistent with others in the that "investment first" allows opportunity to create good relationships. The challenge is: 2 are eyeballing each other... both wondering if the other is sincere. who goes first? :)

So the social networking tools today have a place for introductions? eBay has proven there's a place where people can connect via the internet.

  • I disagree with Seth as well. I think that Seth is missing the point that twitter and friendfeed provide real time connectivity to everyone around the world.

  • what connectivity? to hear about scobble taking a shit? scobble eating popcorn? scobble asking what movie to watch?

Seth is absolutely right. it's all superffiction. I have seen countless times people -no bodies- directing questions to certain popular figures and not get a reply. why? because it makes them feel as if they matter.

  • Seth is not suggesting to give up connectivity. he's telling you to connect with ppl who bring substance. real people who care and listen to you, and visa-versa. that has value, not hearing about a every stupid second of scobbles life!

  • "provide real time connectivity to everyone around the world."

Yes a fact, but be real about it, we are trying to "sell" something.

  • But if you go out of your way to connect say your unemployed friend with an employer you know, just for the sake of your friend. that's basically what Seth is saying is real networking. It's a different story all together.

  • I disagree with seth on this topic. Networking, in the sense of knowing people, can provide leads and helpful information. Jobs are filled in like this all the time. Okay, helping other people is an even better way of networking, but merely knowing people is not a waste of time.

  • Seth, you're right! It's about supporting others goals!

  • Great and he's definately right !

  • my point exactly!

  • super!!

  • thank you!! :)
