Sean Harris is one of my Fav singers, that's a big thing to say I know as a rock fan, but he can both sing and write songs that have stayed with us. They're still going but need Sean Harris back! They're the school band that made it big!
I would say being 8 in 1980 and hailing from midwest america, I don't feel very embarrassed not knowing these guys until Metallica covered them. Besides, it ultimately led me to bands like Sweet Savage, Witchfinder General, Virtue - so thanks for the heads up Metallica.
Saw them live a few times round this period - always thought that Brian Tatler needed to crank his guitar up a bit more on the rhythm parts although it sounds pretty good here. Sean Harris was too much of a poser though - lot of guys didn't really take too kindly to his posturing.
@SteveBurk what are you on about? Sean Harris and Brian Tatler made this band wat it is. Vocals and Guitar. Nevermind the fact that his voice is amazing without apparently having to try. Listen to BORROWED TIME.

Besides this guy is a chump as far as technique if you play like him get your thumb behind the neck and learn to pick right not to mention learn to use the pinky
i guess in that perspective i'm more of a blues player. not that i care, Tatler plays really nice, i could only dream to be as good as him. thats all that matters to me, fuck all the super fast shredders out there, i prefer some soul in guitaristry...
maiden were awesome but u forgot this band never mad a bad song maiden made plenty maiden were more popular and never sold out, but they make music today which is no where near as good as there oldies
I love Diamond Head! How many think I should get a Diamond Head tattoo on my right arm when I turn 15 or 16? Im 14 now but I cant fuckin wait to get one.
Brian Tatler was a great riff and songwriter. He's like Tony Iommi and Michael Schenker rolled into one - awesome! You hear the Iommi in the riff and the Schenker in the solo. Brilliant!
wow! where the fuck did that come from? What the hell does Roots era Sepultura have any thing to do with what were discussing? By the way,I hate anything Sepultura did after Chaos A.D.,and even if I didnt,it still doesnt have anything to do with it. You know what? Im convinced that you have brains in your ass! Oh what! let me search for another irrelevant thing to call you like...um,"fag" yeah, thats a good one!
well no, It's just an extremely poser oppinion. Diamond Head later went on to do a few actually heavier albums that just happened to fail with the mainstream. Def Leppard moved away from that sound to the point of eventually releasing shit like "Pour Some Sugar on Me". Fuck Metallica, Fuck you.
Such an underrated band. Thank god Metallica pointed them out as an influence or there would be less people who have heard of them. I wish to god they reunite so I can go see them live.
Yes, but I can never find them coming around my area. :( Well, since they're British, and not that famous, it makes sense they wouldn't come to America. Eh, who knows? Maybe they did and I just missed them. :P
@yupthatsme27 you know what your absolutely right i had never heard of them until guitar hero metallica so i looked them and i was so shocked.... there music is awesome

This is an awesome song. I love almost all of Diamond Heads early stuff with the classic, Harris-Tatler-Kimberly-Scott line-up. I own a couple of their singles and albums on vinyl and it's just awesome stuff. Its fun to hear in the video that Brian Tatler actually at points play the riff a bit out of tempo and make some minor mistakes. It's understandable though because the riff is quite difficult to play perfect at that speed, I have a bit of trouble with it myself.
I don't know! He always just sang when I read - maybe he helped out with rythym guitars in early days - still great even taking account his freaky shoe taste:)
No Harris actually played rythm guitar on a few tracks where one single guitar wasn't enought. An example is Am I Evil? where Harris plays in the intro but not in the song itself. Though the album cover of Borrowed Time (I own the vinyl LP) only say that Harris sing he does play some rythm guitar on some of the songs.

@Hudzan he's using chromem plated pickups and a marshall plexi head. That the key to the solo
mattdean6 2 years ago
omg, both the left and right hand technique of tatler looks so similar to the way i'm playing. like the way he holds a pick.
big difference though is that he can actually play kickass solos, not me :P

Who on earth put them on this show, managers beware! This was such the wrong audience for them, the manager was clearly touting them for anything.
