There is a place called Carmen's in Ridley, Pa (outside Philly) that advertises a vegan cheesesteak. I once tried a cheesesteak (not vegan) there using fried mushrooms instead of steak. Not bad. My wife makes veg cheesesteaks using Trader Joe's beef strips and real American cheese. Not vegan, but the best vegetarian cheesesteak alternative I've tasted.
