おっしゃる通り、これはスティットのバップエイジにおける最高傑­作であると同時にパウエルの絶頂期を捉えた数少ないアルバムのひ­とつであると思います。

スティットがこのレコーディングに際し、終始パウエルの気分を高­揚させるためにお為ごかしを言っていたというエピソードが面白い­ですね。

ビバップ後期を代表するスティットの傑作ですが、 何かにとり憑かれたように弾きまくるパウエルが凄いですね。

Again, other than Parker, Stitt's lines sometimes resemble those of Bud Powell.

I doubt if you can really compare Stitt with Parker as Parker was a more prolific writer when it came to bebop. However without comparison I still love

hearing Stitt

Because it is the work of jazz reviewers (or jazz researchers), I think you do not have to compare Stitt with Parker forcibly.

Also it is an early representative jazz album for Sonny Stitt and Bud Powell.

You are so right, otaku-san : great masterpiece by two of the greatest and most underrated jazz giants. It´s time to compare Charlie Parker to Sonny Stitt instead of the other way arond as usual. I think he was much better tenor player. Many thanks!
