All of yall were freaking out just standing on the road. You should see it from the seat of one of the Division of Forestry's dozers. We get right in front of those fires.
I have to add one more thing. Our vo0lunteer firefighters have been doing such a great job of keeping these things under control since this drought started. They are wonderful. Naomi
I agree about how wonderful the firefighters have been throughout all the wildfires breaking out! Thank you to all of them for putting their lives on the line every day!
We're in North Gilchrist, where exactly was this? We had a fire since last evening (28 acres)about 1 1/2 miles from us in the deer woods on CR 340. The sky has been filled with smoke and ashes for two days. We need rain so desperately. Good luck to you. Naomi
We're in the Florida panhandle, southern Okaloosa County. I'm saddened to hear about your wildfire -- I'll keep you & your family in my thoughts. Hopefully the much needed rainfall will come for all of us soon! Thank you for your compliment on the video, too. :-)
Thanks for the compliments! I still cannot believe how much forest was lost so quickly and how desolate it looks, especially with the lingering smoldering ashes when you look out at it. I think the smoke smell will stick around until we get a good rainfall. Maybe this weekend? *wishful thinking*
