The theme music for the original 'Star Trek' series, even the fanfare portion was composed by the late Alexander Courage while the theme music from 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture', later reworked as the signature theme for 'The Next Generation' TV series, was composed by the late Jerry Goldsmith.
