  • Thanks for posting my favorite Billy Preston tune (well, ALL of the tunes that he recorded are my favorites, lol).

I was also excited to see a young Keni Burke in the video~(playin' the bass and dressed in red...from the 5 Stairsteps, evolved to Stairsteps, then finally to himself).

This was a special treat for me ;-)

  • I saw Billy once when he was in Ringo's all star band.

  • And how will Billy Preston cut our budget?

  • @Jmarse11

Liking someone just because of their color is as logical as hating them for it.

  • In 1974 I was 14 and I recall this song came out on another video, the street kids in the vid were just fantastic dancers and they were way ahead of the curve at that time. When the vid finished the album kids & me flashed up at the end. Does anyone remember the video I woud luv to see that one again for old time sake. This was a great song and sad to hear of BP's struggle and untimely death.

  • @bmx3r101 -Who Knows!?! I must've been on the wrong page when I wrote this because I LOVE Billy Preston, "Nothing From Nothing Leaves Nothing! You Gotta Have Something If You Wanna Be With Me"...sorry, I just get so pumped up By DISTURBED I lose my fucking mind sometimes. "But as David says, "It's Therapy to vent" I'll erase the SOP comment. Good point, " ...The fuck?" No harm meant.

  • yessssssssssssss love that song this man was a genius =)

  • @videodude4: IMHO, Lady Gaga is most certainly fun to dance to, if that's your groove. Personally, though, I need some SOUL with it, and that is hard to find anymore. That's all I'm sayin'. Peace

  • One of the best groovy song ever'

  • Kobe Bryant on bass.

  • @SamPineSol lol

  • @SamPineSol Keni Burke on Bass in the Apple Jack Cap. Keni has played with all the best and his own Albums have been "Sampled".

  • @SamPineSol-as I suspected MVP and can lay down the track for no less than Billy Preston. Proving Kobe is a damn VAMPIRE...or some other super-powered undead creature.

  • @SamPineSol he looks more like ray allen in my opinion lol

  • @SamPineSol You're right, Kobe had another life before basket-ball!

  • @SamPineSol hahahahahahaha...that's classic !!! good call on that one

  • @SamPineSol ...LOL

  • @SamPineSol Yeah, although Kobe only smiles once every few years, when he wins a title ;-)

  • Great horn section! Have not heard any current music with a beat like this song.

  • It's Keni Burke on the bass.

  • 0:00 - 0:04 is the goofy goober theme song lol

  • He makes me smile he looks so joyful

  • he looked so happi 2 me he was cute love u billy preston

  • This is sooooo beautiful to see. I had the priviledge to know Billy Preston when I used to film the Monday night Pro Jam session at China Club in Hollywood/Beverly Hills for over 10 years. He would drop in and play his biggest hits and the room would go crazy. He was so darned incredible sitting behind the Hammond. What a great man and human being too.

    Thank you for posting this.

    Peace Love Groove,

    MUSIC TELEVISION

  • this is what black music is all about fuck 106 and park

  • This was when music could actually make people smile!

  • probably because this originated from soul not pop music

  • thanks for posing , i was five years old when his song came out and id still take music from this era over most of what i heard in the 80' an early 90's an over all o what i hear today

  • the 5th Beatle

  • He was known as the 5th Beatle

  • i listen to this song once a day. like i posted before. every time I see him smile i just smile back. It must be his spirit. R.I.P. BROTHER!

  • just think, he turned down the beatles

  • @ozziedoggy14

He turned down the Beatles? I thought the story went that John wanted him as the "Fifth Beatle" but Paul shot the idea down. Could be wrong though.

  • @nephilimalchemist i always knew it as him turning it down. but i dont know for sure either

  • He Was also the Fifth Beatle...

  • you all just let the Radio decide what yo listen too and dont looking for the good music that is still alove today...blame yourselves for not knowing how/where to find it.

  • Billy gave us all something to smile about, happy music and good times....you rocked us man

  • he has so much hair i can barely see his face

  • R.I.P. MY brother.

  • THEY GOT KIMBO SLICE ON DRUMS!!!

  • hes rocking that afro

  • nice afro & beart

  • great times the early 70s my high school memories dude i was very popular with girls...but now shit no too fat and old

  • I loved this song when I was a kid. Loved Bill Preston for being the fifth Beatle. His piano solo in the Let It Be movie is unforgettable. Rest in peace Billy.

  • Damn thats going right into the bones

  • Basic training 1974. Shit I'm getting old.

  • wish i could have an afro like billy preston =(

  • real pure rejoicing and genius music

  • guy in the red hat looks like kobe

  • @gracebabelala haha damn he does look like Kobe.

  • out of sync with the words at 0:55 he's not singing the right lyrics lol.

  • so what

  • it's a pretty big error on their part, why wouldn't you want to know that?

  • i dont know -it just jams- thats all i care about- but yeah i guess im more into rockin out to it, than analyzing it- not to take away from your very obvious astute musical ear :)

  • @grhr69 Having an astute musical ear has nothing to do with noticing he's singing the wrong words. It's nothing against Billy Preston. Obviously the person who recognized the error was paying close attention during this song that we all enjoy.

  • does anyone know the members of the band????

  • @cvanhat , The guy in the red hat is Keni Burke of the five stairsteps and rising to the top fame.

  • genius :))

  • great song!

  • He was a genius on the keys! I loved his attitude, too, as well as other artists from that era. Why must everything be so manufactured/dramatic/serious in pop music today? What's wrong w/ just stompin' & HAVING FUN, like this song?

  • Yeah, what ever happened to big keyboard players? Filling Elton John or Billy Joel's shoes would be hard, but I'd like someone to try.

  • @Gnarlita2 I agree - I seriously hate this ,everything but independant, pop music,,,

  • @Gnarlita2 I totally agree

  • Because tastes change, and older generation will never understand that.

  • @Gnarlita2 totally agree. i find this much more enjoyable and addictive than any music today

  • @Gnarlita2 i TOTALLY agree!

  • @Gnarlita2 What about lady gaga with just dance? Is that not just having fun?

  • @Gnarlita2 it takes skill to be such a talented musician people just dont have the perseverance anymore

  • @Gnarlita2 ... what 2 ass***** didn't like this?? Billy was AWESOME!!

  • @Gnarlita2 Agree! Happy and light hearted, makes me want to smile and dance!

  • I used to play this song over and over as a kid when it was first released in 74. I was 11. Love this song.

  • LMFAO XD

  • @carnevil09 ROFL NICE CALL

  • @carnevil09 lol & Kobe Bryant on bass

  • @scrawnyasswhiteboy Wow...he does look Kobe! I was looking at that bass player and thinking..."he looks familiar..."

  • @carnevil09 an shuggy bear on the bass

  • Comment removed

  • @carnevil09 hahaha

  • @carnevil09 lol

  • 0:49 to about 0:56 He says " ...too low to be" when the actual lyric is "...too low to see."

You can sort of see the expression on his face; he rolls his eyes.

  • please go outside and stop watching the same video over and over to find little mistakes its a great song and billy preston is the man

  • Well no shit he's the man. You don't have to get all grouchy on me, especially around the Holiday Season.

I had been watching it for the SECOND time, and I happened to notice that look on his face, so I went back. Happy New Year!

  • he clearly says to low to see

  • Personally, I can't easily purse and pop my lips and make an "s" sound.

  • That is the legendary Keni Burke in the red hat and shirt playing the bass!

  • i love this song he looks so happy performing

  • played wit the stones and the beatles awsome on keys
